I will be building me a new rig within the next month or so and I plan on sinking a hefty amount of money to build something astounding.

Now I dont need the typical assistance on parts, because I can pretty well handle designing the layout I want and the PC itself is going to run about...1000-1500$

What I know I will be doing is installing 2 Nvidia cards into the PC in a NON SLI configuration because I want to set up 3 monitors. The two side monitors will be 21 inch 1080 ASUS monitors, the center monitor would be a larger, 3d capable monitor.

Now what I want help with. I am now contemplating adding a 4th monitor to this rig. One specifically built into the computer desk (IE: Laying flat and flush with the desk top directly underneath the center monitor. What got me thinking of doing this was to get a touch screen monitor in order to use the windows 7 On screen keyboard. So in effect this monitor would basically be a keyboard. Ideally I would also arrange this monitor with docking programs in order to quick launch programs.

So the questions are,
A: have you heard of anyone doing this? / Do you like this idea?
B: can you think of any potential complications this might present
C: Can you think of other useful applications that could be relegated to this keyboard monitor (such as like a mouse gesture pad)

Ideas, thoughts and input would be greatly appreciated.

It's a good idea, but unless you look at your hands 100% of the time while you are typing, you are going to find it INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT to type, as there will be no physical feed back as to where your hands are in relation to other keys.

Plus the keyboard screen would be hell to keep clean -.-

This.

Honestly, it sounds like a great idea. In reality, it probably wouldn't be nearly as useful as you'd expect it to be.

Not to mention if you did intend to game you'd still have to have a real keyboard hooked up, which would end up sitting on top of the monitor.
