So here I am trying to install Civ4 on my PC, but lo and behold an error occurs.

Feature Transfer Error

Errorata Error(cyclic redundancy check).

It sounds like that file is failing it's integrity check hence the install fails. Are you installing from a CD? If so can you see any scratches on the disc?

Hmm do you have another cd/dvd drive that you can use? Or even a completely different computer? It's starting to sound like your civ4 disc is bad.

It could mean that but in this case it means that the value on the disc for a correct data3.cab file did not match up with the value from the actual data3.cab file. At least as far as the drive reading it was concerned.
