I too have noticed that the PC gamers here are too 'proud'. Looking at user scores on Gamespot, and saw quite a difference between the 360 and PC versions (7.1 for PC, 8.3 for 360). I also wonder why PC gamers are so patriotic about how gaming deserves to stay where it started out. PC gaming is becoming increasing harder to cater for with piracy being on the rise, but the PC gamers just blame the publishers and developers who have to appeal to a larger audience with publishers more interested in porting to other platforms. I've always seen PC gamers as people who complain when they don't get mod tools and console gamers as people who are grateful for what they've got.

There are always exceptions but I guess it's just been bugging me lately.

It's understandable though, as games seem to be losing more and more complexity and depth as time goes on. On both the PC and consoles. The difference I think is that console games started losing those things some time ago, whereas PC games only started to lose them this console generation. And it's hard not to blame those consoles, given that nearly every game released on the PC is a port now.

To us PC gamers, it just seems like developers are becoming lazy. Why they can't cater to us with one set of games and the console players with another is a mystery. Bioware had a great opportunity to do just that with the Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises. Why not gain the support of both the PC and console communities? I suppose the PC crowd just isn't profitable enough to bother with anymore?

Which, again, isn't to say that Dragon Age 2 is a bad game. It is very different from the re-imagining of Baldur's Gate that we were promised with the series, however. And therefore very different from what I would consider to be an ideal game for the PC.

Well in my head its divided into a simple split('simple because hese american,mate' -.-) i think there trying to make the pc games happy with the mmo, and everybody else happy with the other games.

i dont say i own an xbox anywhere in the post, in fact out of the consoles i own my xbox is the least played, and ive live split equal time in europe and america, you are an arrogant prick.

I considered your thread an attempt to bring civilization to the trolling masses, maybe I read too much into it...

Ok guys, really? Ive been on the escapist for a while now, watched some great videos, talked to some great people. Too bad most of community is now similar to youtube.

Not really. There's words and stuff, but most of the opinions voiced here are structured. This place is much nicer.

One example are the pc elitists.

The vast majority here on the forums are PC gamers. They didn't came on the PC, because they thought consoles are the better.
Whos the troll? The guy who claims a console is better on a board like this, or the regulars who will then argue why it isn't?

One recent topic that sparked the utter arrogance of these people would have to be DRAGON AGE 2. They claim to be hurt by Bioware's "betrayal". They thought that it was Bioware's job to pamper them. They say that Dragon age Two and Mass effect 2 were so dumbed down, that its obvious that boiware is going streamlined.

I haven't seen people use the word "betrayal" in those topics. Instead I've seen many posts about why these gamers think the game is bad, most often with reasoned arguments why they thought DA:O was better than DA2. Who are you to say they must like a game?

Such posts are perfectly valid on the gaming discussion board, where you can discuss games.

So my question is, how can someone be so arrogant/ignorant(because i know some of your accusations arent well informed) and how the hell can we fix the cancer on the escapist? Its the one place i used to come to converse with level headed people, now it just causes constant aggravation.

By posting more quality content yourself and only getting into arguments with people you feel aren't clueless flamers or trolls. Moderators do the rest.
