PC ports lacking DLC

I've noticed this in a bunch of PC games I've gotten recently. The main 2 are Resident Evil 5 and Sonic & Sega Allstars Racing. While RE5 did include all of the DLC costumes free of cost, the new DLC (Mercenaries Reunion, Versus, Desperate Escape, and Lost in Nightmares) is apparently being left out, and Capcom has even stated that they don't plan on adding it in anytime soon. This makes no sense! I can understand the Sonic Racing game since it's not connect to any sort of special program (GFWL), but RE5 is, and also, Capcom has added DLC to their last release of Street Fighter 4 for the PC.

While I can understand the argument of "Why does the PC version need DLC when they can make mods??", I would rather pay for those huge 4 new modes in RE5 made by professional programmers and such, than download a nude Sheva skin, or a version of Shadow with white stripes in Sonic Racing, made by a bunch of random modders, who have no intiative to make anything at all.

Is there any reason why they shouldn't release it for the PC? Has anyone else encountered this and is a bit ticked off? =/

Capcom aren't particularly interested in developing for the PC, and why are you playing Sonic?!

Considering we often get a slight delay on releases, we tend to get just as much DLC - only quite a bit of it for free.

Being a balanced PC and Console gamer, none of it really bothers me. Developers and publishers will always have platforms that they prefer over the others. Remember that whole Fallout 3 DLC fiasco? All the PS3 owners in the world were pretty pissed.

Basically, you win some, you lose some.
[sub]...And who the hell plays Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing anyways?[/sub]

It wouldn't really bother that much either, but I don't have a PS3 or an Xbox 360, and for them to just blatantly say that they wont release the DLC for the PC version, when they have released PC DLC in the past, just makes no sense to me at all...

[sub]Also, I play it cause it's fun...It's like Mario Kart...only with Eggman and the dude from Shenmue in it =D [/sub]

Just for the future: Playing Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing on the PC? Yeah you've signed a contract to get the least impressive version of the game with no improvements planned for the future.

And PC games get their share of DLC, it just involves a few proverbial hoops to jump through. Update patches, download clients, online registration etc.

Segaish Capcomy developers tend not to care too much about pc's seeing as they were born on consoles. Most *cough*good*cough* developers, Bethesda, Bioware, Valve(especially) always release their dlc on pc.

Either way though we are lucky that mods>dlc

Sorry mate, we could spend hours here listing possible reasons why. In the end, it all comes down to profit. They make much less money on the PC in the first place, and they don't want to waste the time necessary to make the extra content if they don't think they'll see a large profit margin.

Chances are, they'll release a Gold Edition for the PC like they did with PS3 and 360.
