Sorry if this is old news, just thought that y'all might care. Since I know this site is full of PC gamers. I'm not one of them, so all of these terms are mumbo jumbo to me. Well, at least all the words related to the graphics card and processor. Can't they just name these in sequence?

Nvidia 40 is better than 39 and so on. Instead of all the fancy names like GeForce and whatnot? I understand that GeForce 6000 or whatever is worse than GeForce 7000 or whatever, but why the GeForce tag?

Ooooooh! So I won't have to upgrade for this game (as I did for Bioshock.
Good to know, thanks mate.

Enhanced for multi-core.

Well, it's about damn time everybody started doing that.

And yet, it is time for another upgrade.

GeForce, just like Radeon is brand of GPUs for PCs, since you know, graphic cards are used for other things as well and so GoForce is for PDAs and mobile phones, Quadro is for professional workstations Tesla is for high-performance computing system and RSX is for PS3 (Xbox uses GeForce) And generally they are in sequence, started with GeForce 256, went all the way to 9xxxx only to now return to 4xx because apparently 46 500 would just look stupid <.>

As for specs, good they finally added in built multicore support. It's about time every game out there used it as well as took full advantage of 64 bit systems. The engine didn't changed that much from FO3 so i think PCs that ran that decently shouldn't die on Vegas.

I ordered it from Steam today.
If for some reason it doesn't work I am going to break down.

They do that. Geforce 8000 is better then 7000. Although they screwed it up now that 400 is the best, better than 200, which is better than 9000. And "Geforce" means that they mean normal desktop GPUs (others, like Tesla, Quadro and ION, are meant for specific types of workstation crunching).

CPUs are harder to follow though.

And anyways, these specs make me a happy, happy person. Thank you.

Would an ATI 3200 handle this?
I bet, hell my friend plays fallout 3 and fallout new vegas won't require any better hardware

and he has
7900GTX 2 years older than fallout 3
Athlon 64 3800+ (2.4 Ghz Single core CPU)
2Gb DDR1 400MHz/PC3200

unless your game is called crysis you can get away with a computer where 90% of it is about 7 years old, I don't even see the point of listing required specs when the minimum required graphics card came out 6 years ago

You seem like you know your stuff, could you tell me if my desktop could run this, I'm not the best with this stuff.

I'm not sure if my graphics card and processor are good enough.

It has a NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i graphics card.

I'm not sure if I have a dual core processor, however I was digging about in my computer ans I found this:

Intel core 2 quad CPU Q6600 2.40 GHz

It had that line 4 times.

This is open to anyone who can help of course.

I think that is a bit too weak the 7050 is an IGP (Integrated graphics processor)

a nForce 710|NVIDIA nForce 730a is only really good enough for flash videos like youtube

Pretty much. Integrated GPUs are terrible waste of money if you plan actually doing anything more than using web browser and office. According to benchmark tests 7050 was about 3-4 times weaker than 6600GT getting only around 20 FPS on Quake4 with 800x600 resolution and lowest settings. <.< Then again if it ran FO3 it should run Vegas.

The CPU is not bad tho, it's quad core, sadly most software doesn't really benefits from all 4 cores usually being limited to 2, but 2 more never hurt! <.<

Ah well, integrated means I can't replace it doesn't it?

Oh yay, so my PC can run it! I'll probably still by it on 360 instead though...
