PC survival horror

So, I'm a big fan of survival horror, but sadly, I sold my consoles for various personal reasons so survival horror is not as easy to come by as it used to be. Help me out people, suggest some survival horror games on PC for me.

Hmmmm survival horror, how about The Killing Floor? its pretty good, and its Co-op survival horror, its on steam so its easy enough to get.

If you're not a graphic whore, might I suggest to go old style? The original Alone in the Dark, System shock 2, the pc version of the suffering, They do have PC versions of some Silent Hill games and some other games I forgot the names.

Ah, yes, I have played the 2nd, you have reminded me about the first. I will add it to my list .

I'll have you all warned, I have played alot of games, but still, I urge you all to suggest something.

I'd recommend Condemned: Criminal Origins if you haven't played it. I was frightened pretty much throughout this game and it has some very good melee combat.

Doom is KINDA scary.

And Daikatana is scary!

It doesn't do anything new, but what it does it does it brilliantly.

The audio is the major scare factor, it's a must have to play in the dark with headphones for that surround sound quality.

Does that work with a 360 controller?

Not sure, to be honest, but with the keyboard and mouse controls it plays excellently.

Nice, I had an affair with RE4 so I have been keeping my eye on the survival horror genre lately.

It may not TECHNICALLY be a survival horror but both S.T.A.L.K.E.R games are pretty good. You can get some great mods that remove all the humans and replace them with monsters. I'd also suggest John Carpenters: The Thing. It's buggy, old and not that great but you can probably get it for next to nothing. All the other suggestions in this thread are fantastic too.

First 15 minutes into it (I was playing in the dark with headphones) I had to turn it off.

This C'tan isn't scared so easily, but those 15 minutes stopped me from sleeping for the next hour.

Heh, RE4 never scared me, it just frustrated me with its crazy bosses and clunky controls. Yet I still loved it >.<
The funny thing is I played Bioshock at 4 am everytime I played. Spider splicers scare me

Bioshock though is just pure class!!

Killing Floor is pretty good, so is Left 4 Dead.

Dead Space is good, and Cyrostatis is pretty goo too, but you'll need a hefty machine to play either of these two.
