Tried installing new dirvers for my GPU and it gave a BSoD with the atikmdag.sys. I have tried to re-install and uninstall Catalyst Control Center but it will crash half way in. I have also run multiple diagnostics and startup repairs but they won't wwork. Can anyone help and can I fix this by buying a new GPU?

If you can restart the system under safe mode, you should be able to uninstall all drivers and software involved with it. Then install the software as if you'd just installed the video card.

Worst case scenario, try a system restore. You may lose some files, but it tends to fix computer derping.

...heh? Shouldn't this be at some computer geek forum for people who actually know about this stuff?

Oh wait. lol

Ephraim J. Witchwood probably has a good solution, however I've also had similar driver problems before. Good thing I give up too easily.

What, hitting F8 during startup is too complicated? ... Why download even more software to remove software? Its a graphics driver, not a virus.

Download Driver Sweeper, follow the instructions on the page, re-install the CCC.

Should work then.
I went to the website to download it but at the download screen it says 'Guru3D Driver Sweeper has been discontinued as such you will not find any download links here any longer.'
