So, as some of you may be aware, I'm totally new to PCs and the entire upgrading process. As such, I'm filled with stupid questions that may make you face palm.

Anyways, onto the point at hand. I've had my current (And first proper gaming PC) for about 6 months and it's been dandy. I've been playing games like Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite and Dishonored fairly close to high settings, it not on high. However, I shall be receiving a fair bit of money soon, around £250/$402/300 Euros. So, I've decided to upgrade it a bit to future proof it a little bit. Might sound silly to upgrade something that's only 6 months old, but I'd rather fork out now and be prepared for the future instead of being skint and gazing longingly at games I can't play. [footnote]Which won't happen as my PC is apparently fairly good but hey, just go with it.[/footnote]

Anyway, below you will find my current specs and proposed upgrades, along with a nooby question. I may also be missing something from the spec list so feel free to let me know what it is.

CPU: A8-5600K Quad Core (@3.6Ghz)
Mobo: FM2A55M-DGS [http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A55M-DGS/]
GPU: Radeon HD 7750 VTX3D 1GB DDR3 Edition
PSU: 500W CiT something or other, can't recall of the top of my head.
RAM: 8 Gigs DDR3(2x4)
OS: Win8 (I know, I know...)

CPU: A8-5600K Quad Core (@3.6Ghz)
Mobo: FM2A55M-DGS [http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A55M-DGS/]
GPU: HD7850/7870 (Depends on what price I can find for them although leaning towards this right now [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11200-14-20G-Card-HD7850-GDDR5/dp/B008HV63F0/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1380151758&sr=8-10&keywords=hd+7950] simply as it'll allow me to spend more on a good PSU)
PSU: 700W (Again, brand depends on what I can find in my price range

RAM: 8 Gigs DDR3(2x4)
OS: Win8

So, couple of questions.

One, does the motherboard affect much when it comes to GPUs or not? Or simply put, if I put in a HD7850/7870 in, will my current mobo work with it or no?
Two, is a 700W PSU good enough for this build/overkill/not good enough?
Also, thirdly, and this is just to double check my own research, but does it matter if my RAM is a different DDR to my GPU?

Thanks for any advice and try to keep the jargon simple enough for my puny brain to comprehend. XD

1. Yes it will work however the 7850 isn't a big upgrade. Performance will improve but I think a 7950 is a better choice.
2. It's a bit of an overkill. As long as your current one is made by a reliable brand and has PCI-e 6 pin connectors you should be fine.
3. No

Well, I'm not sure if my current PSU is a reliable brand or not. After racking my brains a bit more, I think it's this, or something very similar [http://www.cougar-extreme.co.uk/computer_systems/caseinfo4773.html] to it. So any feedback on if this brand is good or not would also be greatly appreciated.

But thanks for the quick feedback on the other two questions. :)

Yeah it's a bit generic. I think you will be able to add a 7850 but you will be pushing it.
You will most likely need a new one if you get a more powerful card like a 7950. You should look for a 600w one which is rated at 80+ efficiency. Shouldn't cost more than 60-70 dollars.

AMD just unveiled a new line of graphics cards so I advice you to wait till they hit the shops.
