In school we learned of a day that takes place on september 21st called peace day. It's a day where all the world stops fighting for a day. Now, I'm sure the majority havn't heard of this day, but that's my point. Does it make a difference if no one knows about it besides the government? Do you think that everyone in the world will stop fighting on one day, just becuase the UN told them not to? The man who started this originally was the president of Costa Rica. When he brought the idea to light, it was accepted, but no one listened to it. Now a British man (name escapes me) brought this idea to the UN again in the 90's. For almost 10 years he went to country after country to teach about this day. His antics even inspired a African tribe to stop a war they've been fighting for over 18 years. So now what I'm wondering is, what do you think? Do you think it will work? Will we have more than one day of peace eventually? Do you think he's a hippy? I don't know, but I thought I might educate some people on this.
