Pearl Jam are amazing. Simple as that.

Favourites are: Rearview Mirror, Given to Fly, Man of the Hour, Once, I Am Mine... I could go on, but those are my top five.

I'd like Man of the Hour played at my funeral =)

I used to be huge into them, vs and Binaural were my favourites. Dissident is overrated methinks, stuff like in my tree, insignificance, state of love and trust and loads others are way better. I saw them live a few years ago, they rocked my socks.

Of course! How could I forget!

My girlfriend was ruined by a past boyfriend who also liked Pearl Jam, but drove her to hate them. However, she really likes Yellow Ledbetter, and that makes me happy

I liked their first three albums when they came out, although they bore me now due to overexposure. Those first three albums got progressively weirder and weirder, after the third one it was obvious the band got some record company pressure to can the artsiness and get back to making rock-by-numbers, because that's where they've been stuck ever since. I don't care one iota for anything they've recorded after "Vitalogy", I think somewhere along the line they simply lost their songwriting ability, actually even most of that third album is filler now I think about it.

Pearl Jam's sound has also heavily dated. Not the band's fault, but the fault of thousands of clones that sprang up all around the world, flogging that "sound" to death and making me thoroughly sick of it. For a few years there people doing that marble-mouthed Eddie Vedder voice was all I would ever fucking see whenever I got sent new original music or went to see a new original band live. Every single day - "oh look another one who wants to be Eddie Vedder". Of course none of these trend-following bands ever got anywhere because the grunge ship had well and truly sailed by 1995 and no new bands in that style were even being looked at by the industry by the time I got into that line of work.

I have only heard 3 of their songs, but I liked them all very much.

So yes, I agree. Pearl Jam is a great band.

However, I'd have to argue that Rise Against is better.

I like them. My favorite song is Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town.

I haven't really heard their newer stuff though.

I like Eddie Vedder's voice in general. I love Temple of the Dog, and the song Hunger Strike. Plus Vedder did an excellent version of Masters of War for a Dylan tribute.

Not to be one of THOSE kinds of people, but "I like their old stuff." And since I got totally ninja'd...

I think they're overhyped bland country rock.

And Eddie Vedder just gave me the shits back in the 90's with his endless whining about how he couldn't handle all the fame and attention.

I'm not the biggest PJ fan, but I LOVE Do The Evolution.

I came here to say this.

my girlfriend is way into them, but thats the only song of there i really enjoy listening to. if they had more songs similar to that in both subject matter and sound they would be one of my fav bands.

Honestly, the only album I've listened to of theirs is "Ten" - that being said, Ten is one of my all-time favourite albums, so I'd definitely have to say that yes, Pearl Jam are awesome. I'm sure I'd like their other stuff, but even if I didn't, they would still kick ass simply based on Ten
