Have you ever had a moment where you are stuck in a game on a particular boss or level or swarm of enemies or such, either way, you feel compelled to get past this section, so compelled that even constant death and losing will not stop you, to the point that this is now your 40th attempt and for some strange reason, you are still loading up your last save, that's EXACTLY how I'm feeling at this exact moment in time.

Keen Example:
Hm, let me just take on these opponents / do this level...*Dead* *Load* Hmm, well that didn't work, let me try this instead....*Dead* *Load* Okay, ah, but there's a weak spot, I'll just take advantage of it and...*Dead* *Load* Hmm, but this seems easy, there must be a way, ah let me try...*Dead* *Load* Or I'll try....*Dead* *Load* Okay so...*Dead* *Load* Fine, s...*Dead* *Load* Damn...*Dead* *Load* *Dead* *Load*.....yeah you get the drift.

Of course.

Arkham Asylum, hardest difficulty, trying to get past the battle where Harley electrifies the floor and you're forced to go up on to a platform with two 'firearms' cabinets the enemies use.

Took me three goddamn tries.

Force Unleashed, fighting against the Jedi apprentice turned Sith and her pet Rancor. I spent the better part of a full night trying again and again because of her cheap shots. What I usually do when stuck is stop for a day or so, then come back with a calm mind, but not this time: I decided to keep at it until I beat that freaking boss, and beat her I did.

Left 4 Dead 2 on Expert Realism + n00bs and you've got the perfect recipe for a fail-week.

Poison Ivy was worse. I had her down to one nanometer of health and some goon smashed me.
I found her easier than bane, actually.

The final level of Blade Kitten.

Until I figured out what I was supposed to do.

It's almost too easy once you do that, and then the ending cutscene was painfully bad and takes the story in a lame direction.

Whether in a game or real life, sometimes it pays to be a stubborn bastard.

Although in gaming I would have to say Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. Loading and reloading trying to find that best strategy to beat that level. Should I go in with these people? Should I memorize these spells? Good fun!

The only time I can remember this happening to me was in Call of Duty: World at War.

I kept doing the exact-same-thing every time. Hide in a bomb crater and just kept shooting and throwing mortar rounds and grenades at the Japanese. Died about 13 times until it paid off.

Sad thing is, I actually got an acheivement for dieing so many times.

MW2 on the Brazil level. There was a sniper or something that just had the street completely covered. I tried ever senseable thing to take him out, but nothing worked. After forty deaths, I said screw it and just madly dashed a him and chucked grenades.. I killed him immediately. Just goes to show that for all the tactics and strategy in the world, nothing beats brute force.
