A case like this where a game is censored for no reason

And hey, what's wrong with anumu tiddy wankers? Is this kink-shaming? Is it more prestigious to be into regular old porno whores or what? What's the wanking hierarchy? lol
Don't be disingenuous. You know what it's being altered is the gay pedophile predators, not the anumu tiddies.

You may wanna read the post that was a response to cause you lack critical context that'd shield you from misinterpreting what I'm saying.

It wasn't referring to what was censored in royal, it was about the poster's jab at wankers and the coolness found therein.

Oh and I don't consider them pedophiles lol, they were hitting on a 16-17 year old and they didn't know his age either so that sure is a silly thing to describe them as.

Just before that, he couldn't enter into a bar and had to run from a police officer because his high-school uniform was a telltale sign that he is underage. So don't give me the "they didn't know his age" crap. lol

In Japan, highschool starts at 16 cause it's 3 years, so yeah, at lowest he could be 16 which is legal there. By definition not underage.

Similarly, in Japan you can't drink alcohol before 20, so you could be 19 and still get turned away from a bar, so that's not an indicator you think it is either.

When's Persona 5 R come out?

i bought Persona 5 about a year ago but havent got round to playing it yet and since Persona 5 R got announced now i'm just like "fuck it why not just get that and play the better version instead?"
I've just watched some footage and differences on YouTube and it really doesn't seem like that big of a gap to me. I don't think I want it to be longer either - it's plenty long enough. I think it might be better just playing what you have if you've already bought it or it'll be a massive waste of money. I'm enjoying it a lot and I really can't see how this slightly upgraded version costing 60 quid or whatever will be that much better. I think it would have been better as DLC.

You need to treat that japaniphilia of yours; it's distracting you from the important part of the discussion here: predation.

Providing context around the circumstances of the scene in question is "japanophillia" now because to do so one is required to explain the context of where the scene takes place (japan)? Sure, whatever you say lol. Still an ad-hominem that doesn't address my valid point.

In any case, no, the important part of the discussion is censorship. There's no predation here, there's a joke about fictional predation in a videogame. None of which is something that justifies censorship. Jokes are jokes and fiction is fiction so when you have a joke in a fictional setting you're doubly out of "predation" and trying to liken such things to actual predation is to downplay it.

Remember, this game is not taking out your ability to date your adult teacher and the adult reporter and doctor ladies. The game is not taking a stance against such situations. It's enthusiastically for them, if anything. (and nobody who is in their right mind has any issues with those situations either btw, so it's silly to mind this one which is actually a fictional joke that nothing comes out of, quite unlike the fictional relationships where you can see kissing happening at the very least and a lot more is implied based on the context of what happens with couples all over Japan on xmas eve...oh wait I'm being japanophilic again lol)

Your point about Japan laws on age became irrelevant once you used your "fictional" card. After all, the game happens in a fictional Japan with a story that reminds you every 5 minutes that this is about a group of kids fighting against rotten adults. The only justification comes from your own bias (aka. japaniphilia).

Anyways, let's stop beating around the bush: that part in question crosses the line into portraying gays as predators for no reason other than a joke, and it got lots of complains because of it. They aren't removing the joke, just leaving out the predation aspect of it. As nothing comes out of the joke, changing it bears no repercussions for the rest of the game at all.

I'm talking about the laws in fictional Japan that p5 takes place in, which happen to mirror the laws in real Japan. When you're analyzing the context of a world a fictional story is taking place in you're supposed to treat them as though they're real in the confines of your analysis because for that world they are. To say something is fictional isn't to say it doesn't have its own set of rules that it must follow, it just means that you can't affect corporeal beings with it so it shouldn't be treated the same as things which do affect corporeal beings are treated. Nobody was ever molested by a videogame character, I assure you.

See, I don't think it portrays gays in general as anything, all it does is portray those two individuals as that. I don't have a habit of treating groups of people as monoliths or label entire groups with the behavior of their worst associates. I don't get why anyone would do such a thing.

Fair enough.

While there is a 'golden path' where you can level up all stats and max out all confidants in one run, it's very tricky and it takes some of the fun out of the game IMO. For now, I'd say just focus on getting access to the confidants you personally like. If I had to suggest some to prioritize:
1) The maid from Operation Maidwatch
2) The fortune teller in Shinjuku
3) The street doctor in Yongen-Jaya
4) Any party member you plan on using a lot

As for the more difficult to find confidants, the speech-giving man outside Shibuya station is one, and one of your future party members can be found inside the station itself. The weapons shop owner is probably the hardest to start on, requiring massive Guts, so don't worry about him too much until later. You will be automatically led to most of the others, but when you're tasked with taking down someone who's cheating at video games in Mementos (yes I thought it was petty too considering you've taken down rapists, con artists, drug dealers and murderers by then), make sure to attempt that promptly so you can gain access to the final confidant.

Are those 4 points after the 3rd palace because i haven't ran into any of them yet? Also, I've been neglecting the death confidant a bit (back alley doctor) - should i be concentrating on her more?

Sorry, I forgot where you were in the game. Operation Maidwatch becomes an option after the first Palace and nets you one of the best confidants. You'll know it when you see it. The game brings you to Shinjuku over the course of looking for the 3rd Palace, and once you can go there you can meet with the Fortune Teller in the alley to the right of the theatre. She is expensive to start with but worthwhile. And yes, the Death confidant is completely worth spending more time with, particularly once you can purchase SP Adhesives.

I might also recommend the Shogi player in the church. I forget exactly when she's available in the story but Mishima will tell you when you can go to the church to meet her. Being able to swap party members during battle is a godsend against bosses.

Death confidant is also this punk rock doctor lady you get to romance, she's worth it for story alone.

I'm passed the 4th palace now. I'm crazy into this game now. It's so addictive. I haven't played anything that's gripped me this way for a long time,

By the 5th palace the last of the non-team member confidants should become available. To get him you must go after a specific low-key Mementos target first that Mishima will text you, but to get the full name you must speak to people at the Arcade in Central Street.

I found him just before we went to Hawaii. Had to save to it there and do life things. Genuinely, I can't believe how much enjoyment I'm getting from this game. I'm going to have to get through it before it takes over my life.
