Personalized Debit Card Design - Mine Was Rejected...

I use Wells Fargo as a secondary bank account, and thought I'd have some fun personalizing my debit card. They offer a free service where you can order a credit or debit card with your personal pictures, photos, or artwork. They went ahead and gave several [uninspired] examples of personalized cards, such as a bunch of smiling friends, a sandy tropical beach, etc, etc. The guidelines as to what they will accept are fairly strict though, and they reserve the final decision as to whether or not they'll accept the design. Reasonable enough - still, I'm a bit disheartened that my first choice got rejected...

...but they didn't specify exactly why, leading me to speculate that it's probably because I don't strictly hold the copyright of the image, or at the very least didn't obviously create it myself. Other than that, it doesn't seem to violate any of the listed rules. I went out of my way to edit the source picture, resizing it, cropping it, doing everything they demanded as far as having the basic layout and format requirements met, so I'm sure it wasn't rejected on the grounds of improper dimensions.

Anyway, I've been bouncing around a few silly ideas here and there, but haven't really settled on a new idea to submit. Anyone here got any ideas they'd like to share? I could really use some help with this, and would hate to have to settle on something groan-inducingly unfun.

"Image Guidelines

Wells Fargo has the sole discretion to accept or reject any image. The guidelines below will help you choose an acceptable image. If your image does not meet these image guidelines, or if we reject it for any other reason, we will send you an email and invite you to try again using a different image.

For all images you must:

-Use one of the following file formats: .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .png, .tiff, or .bmp
-Upload a file that is less than three megabytes (that is, 3 MB or 3,000 KB)
-Own the image or have permission from the owner to use the image on your card
-Get approval from the owner if you use any logo, name, or tag line that isn?t yours

For background images you must have pixel dimensions that are greater than or equal to 840x840.

For photos and logos you must have pixel dimensions that are greater than or equal to 400x400.

Images that include any of the following will be rejected:

-Trademarks, copyrighted materials, advertising, or branding
-Celebrities, musicians, athletes, entertainers, or other public figures
-Telephone numbers, URLs, account numbers, addresses, or email addresses
-Cartoon characters or artwork that you have not created and/or do not have permission from the copyright owner to use
-Violent, offensive, anti-social, or death imagery - including any other material that could be perceived as violent
-Provocative, lewd, or sexual content - including nude, semi-nude, or partially clothed pictures of people of any age
-Dead animals, including game animals
-Political or religious imagery
-Symbols representing money or other content that might result in confusion at the point of sale, or that might result in card fraud
-Socially unacceptable or discriminatory behavior or signs (for example, gangs, hatred, drug or alcohol abuse, graffiti, profanity, or other obscene behavior or gestures)
-Images of flags, unless it is one of the flag-related images from our photo gallery"

Background image has to be at least 840 X 840? Weird. I wonder if you could get away with using this:

Get off of me!

If all else fails, I bet I could get away with the good old standard,

Your image size is 380 X 507 and doesn't meet the minimum pixel dimensions for either a photo or background image. Did you resize that for your thread post? It may have been rejected simply because of the size requirements.

They probably rejected it on the grounds of public safety. If you hand it over to a clerk who has a fear of clowns, you may end up giving them a stroke!

Yes, actually I resized it, cropped it, adjusted it to make it fit the size and layout demands... and all I got was a silent "your design has not been accepted."

I think I may run with your first pic - proper ownership aside, that one doesn't strike me as controversial in any way.

He's cute, but I prefer the Canadian superhero.

I dunno if an AMERICAN company would allow it, but I think it's cool.

I got one of those once with a picture of my cat on. Was processed just fine.

I'm tempted to get another one now that I've seen this thread...

Also clown credit cards are mean :C

I think they're worried that the owner of this picture might see the card and then sue the company.
Americans are known for suing everyone over everything so better safe than sorry.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
You should really get this on your card
I can't imagine them not accepting it.

I actually had a friend that managed to get a version of that on one of their cards, though some how it got found out later and their card got canceled suddenly and they had to get a new one.

Yeah your submission probably got denied as offensive material. Due in part to the fact that it's meant to scare and disturb people. Honestly though, with their restrictions I'd just not bother, even if I could have my card done up in the colors of the trans pride flag.

If I ever get a bank that allows for personal cards I'm getting the Blue card from Series 3 of Digimon.

All my personalized debt cards are all Disneyland-related... One has the Disney Castle and another has Splash Mountain on it...

Other than that, if it wasn't for copyright, then <url=http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/354/6/8/rainbow_dash_by_bl1ghtmare-d4gue8s.png>Rainbow Dash and/or <url=http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/347/6/5/reconnect_kh___keyblade_list_by_6spiritking-d5teuzb.png>a bunch of Keyblades would be on my debt cards!
