Molyneux is to Hype and Gross Over-enthusiasm what Mr. Bay is to Action Films:

Way, way, WAY over the top...and lackluster when he actually does the deed

I am IMMEDIATELY skeptical of everything Molyneux says. However, it must be said that in the first 6 weeks of the year their are 8 games that I desire to play, and their are plenty of games that are coming out that I need!

I hope he's right but I doubt it. We really do need another year like 2004; sorry Mr. Funk, I was on a gaming break around 98: NYC was still a cool/affordable place to hang out back then.

Unfortunately it seems like games haven't necessarily been getting better since 2004. Sure, some may look nicer but it seems like many of the devs (at least the good ones from then) are phoning it in now.

I hope OnLive and/or Gaikai live up to the promise. The console scene needs some good competition: the only reason I bought a ps3 is because it's competitor was bursting into flames at the time. We need more choices; Good Choices.

So I look up gaming in 2004 in an attempt to rebuke your point only to realize that 2004 was EPIC for gaming and I didn't remember just how much lol. Even so, Mass Effect 2 trumps them all :p. That game alone proves PM's point.

Hell yea: GTA San Andreas, Katamari Damacy, Dawn of War, and Burnout 3?
2004 was the year I got balls deep into gaming again. We're going to need more than one really great game to top that year.

ME2 does look cool but I'm still playing through my first Dragon Age playthrough. I'm not going to be ready for another conversation simulation for another year or two and by that time I might want to play Heavy Rain as my conversation simulation; that is, if it doesn't turn out to be a really pretentious collection of quick time events.

He told me Fable 2 would be good....lies.
That's not exactly true. Fable 2 is good- but the important thing isn't that, but rather that it wasn't as good as Peter Molyneux made it out to be. The guy has serious troubles with overhyping his products. Like I said, Fables 1 + 2 were pretty good, but they still could have been so much better.

I agree with him. And then 2011 will be bigger.

The gaming industry is still increasing in size after all...

As someone who loves Fable 2 and even Fable 1, I can honestly say, ignore everything he says.

He talks too much, but never believe him and you'll enjoy his games more.

So, don't listen to him. But don't hate him, either.

I think you mean "Molyneux is to games what Bay is to action films." Your analogy as it stands doesn't make sense.

I think 2010 has 98 beaten in all honesty, unless some of these games tank BADLY.
I don't think so. I have a hard time believing anything will beat a year that saw the releases of Ocarina of Time, Starcraft, Half-Life, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Fallout 2, and Pokemon Red and Blue. All of those games were juggernauts that defined gaming forever.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah, I couldn't really word it right, it was late...
