I honestly took his original quote to mean he was planning to retire after Godus. So I'm a little surprised, but hey, love him or hate him, the man's been an important figure in game development for a while now. Whether he's been important in the sense of his own games or in the sense of other developers learning what to avoid, well, your mileage may vary.

"I'll retire when I die," he said. "Or when people tell me to shut up, I guess."
We've been telling you to shut up ever since you released the beta version of Fable 2, but you've just had your fingers in your ears going "la-la-la I can't hear you!".

So we'll tell you again: SHUT UP!
Who's "we"? I've been shouting "KEEP 'EM COMING" non-stop for the past eight years.

So, Peter,

KEEP 'EM COMING!

OT: Cool. I like Molyneux's projects.
So you LIKE half-assed, unfinished games with zero QA testing before release?

Da hell have YOU been playing?

All the games I get from him are half-assed unfinished games with LOADS of QA testing. And yes, they're fantastic.

Regardless of how much QA testing the games get how can you say that a half-assed unfinished game is fantastic.

I mean we constantly dig at Zynga for exactly that.

Plus I didn't like what happened to the fable line, the first one was pretty good and then I feel that what happened to the leveling up system ruined it. Don't get me started on how spells work in Fable 3.

Because Zynga are lazy, anti-creative and don't even try. At least Molyneux really tried to do six or seven innovative things at once and failed. I love games that fail to do something awesome versus games that succeed at being badly designed.

I'll give Molyneux credit - he would have had one hell of a career as an actor. The fact that he fooled RPS into believing he was on the verge of a mental breakdown (going so far as to cry in front of them) and got half of NeoGAF on his side says a lot about his mentality. He could probably fool you into believing your own mother died if it would help him sell another copy of his game.

I'd have a higher opinion of his games (several of which I enjoy) if he wasn't so prone to lying through his teeth all the time about his mental condition.
