Petition to patch Brutal Legend

Hey, anyone here remembers this game?

There's a really bad situation going on with the PS3 version of the game, so I thought that people might like to know.

The release of 1.2 patch for Brutal Legend had introduced a bug critical enough to make the game unplayable for a significant portion of PS3 users, known as the "stuck at the loading screen" bug. If you own a PS3 and have bought Brutal Legend anytime from December 2009 to now, there's a pretty big chance that you're screwed, and will never be able to finish the game.

That bug was not fixed for over 8 months, and EA support guys don't even admit that it's there, suggesting useless stuff like clearing game data or reinstalling the game. In a few cases when guys got pissed off enough to demand a refund they were given coupons and free games.

Double Fine however admits that it's a bug and says that the patch has been ready for a while now, quote:
"If you are experiencing a PS3 game stuck at loading screen issue or your stats have been wiped, these are known bugs. Unfortunately, the fixes that we have built for it have not been deployed for reasons beyond our control. While there are no workarounds, we do encourage people to contact Customer Support at Electronic Arts to voice their concerns or desires ? they can be reached at support.ea.com." ( http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/3329/ ) ...as well as few other less generous and official sounding things in personal conversations on Twitter and such, reported on forums.

The only thing that stops them from outright calling EA out is an understandable reluctance to burn the bridges in the industry.

That's the basic facts, more details can be seen in the text of the petition itself.

Personally I think that Brutal Legend is a great game that deserves a proper responsible support.

If you think that this is important, please show your support by signing the petition below.

Petitions, Boycotts and Schemes.

Three things that don't work on the Internet.

A good try but its EA......You really think they will listen?

Advertising much?
It's about games on a gaming forum.
So I can advertise on this forum as long as I'm advertising games?
OT: Pre-order Halo: Reach!
Jesus dude, it's just a link, do you seriously class this as advertising? I mean it's not as if the OP is using a spam account to flood the forums with crap.

Online petitions...not effective.
Pity though. I love Brutal Legend for its humor if nothing else.

Note the fact they have 1 post and the fact that nobody cares.
What about the Brutal Legend owners on PS3. Ok, so it maybe a small percentage of people, but you can't please everyone.

Hmm... petitions. What was the fact about them again? Oh yeah: they rarely work.

But that's the disadvantage of consoles: the developer has no control.

Oh yes because 4537 gives you more cred.
I suppose you consider me posting a video as shameless advertisement for Youtube then?

Why not try creating a new game to see if it works all the way through instead of waiting 8 months and petitioning people to make a patch?

No but the fact I have been around for longer than 3 days, actually paid attention to how things work and had the common sense to keep my mouth shut until I had some understanding about it does. Not that I would expect a troll to understand anything as complex as that. But I am sure I am keeping you from spamming other innocent threads with your special brand of stupid so I will let you get back at it.

You're right, it doesn't. What does give him more credibility is the fact that he's been a member of this forum for more than 4 days.

Depends if you start asking me subscribe.
"Sign this document which may support our mutual interests" =/= "Subscribe to my Youtube channel".

hey he tried
you've got give kudos for trying

Anyway they should just fix it is not gonna cost trillions now is it?
The way I understand things it costs them (the devs) money to put a patch through Sony or MS. So I can understand them forking out the dough to patch a new game but to patch an 8 month old game seems kinda like a waste of money. If you can find it new you aren't going to be paying mare than 20 so they aren't going to see a profit. Sure it would be nice for them to pay for it out of the goodness of their hearts but they already made their money off of it so I wouldn't expect them to patch it anytime soon.

actually it does, it mean he/she knows more about the forums and what goes on in them, besides you don't have to be a dick if a guy is trying to get people to sign on a petition to patch a game that he likes....glad i bought the xbox version.

You're right, let's ban everbody who joins the escapist because they haven't been on the site for two years.
At no point in time did I suggest that your input was invalid, rather that it was represented in a manner that, had you been attentive, you would have recognized as ineffectual, brazen, and inflammatory. Here at the Escapist we try fairly hard to not make an arrogant farce out of ourselves within a week of being members. Should we be prejudiced against new members? No. However, it's situations like this involving people like you that make us want to.

No, it's good of the TS to spread the word.

Gamers need to know about this stuff and be more wary of EA.
