Advertising much?
It's about games on a gaming forum.
So I can advertise on this forum as long as I'm advertising games?
OT: Pre-order Halo: Reach!
Jesus dude, it's just a link, do you seriously class this as advertising? I mean it's not as if the OP is using a spam account to flood the forums with crap.
Note the fact they have 1 post and the fact that nobody cares.
Oh yes because 71 gives you more cred.
Oh yes because 4537 gives you more cred.
Oh yes because 2118 gives me more cred.

Internet: "We have a petition with the entire bulk of the PS3 owning audience demanding you fix your broken-ass game!"
Developer #1: "Crap, this petition is saying everybody seems to think our game is broken and needs to be fixed. Should we invest the man-hours needed to patch it?"
Developer #2: "Nope, everybody who was going to buy the game already has. If anything, all this attention on how broken the game is will only prevent more people from wanting to buy it. Best to cut our losses and move on to the next product."
Developer #1: "Right you are. Our work here is done."

Yep - I hate the industry.

Hey, anyone here remembers this game?

There's a really bad situation going on with the PS3 version of the game, so I thought that people might like to know.

The release of 1.2 patch for Brutal Legend had introduced a bug critical enough to make the game unplayable for a significant portion of PS3 users, known as the "stuck at the loading screen" bug. If you own a PS3 and have bought Brutal Legend anytime from December 2009 to now, there's a pretty big chance that you're screwed, and will never be able to finish the game.

That bug was not fixed for over 8 months, and EA support guys don't even admit that it's there, suggesting useless stuff like clearing game data or reinstalling the game. In a few cases when guys got pissed off enough to demand a refund they were given coupons and free games.

Double Fine however admits that it's a bug and says that the patch has been ready for a while now, quote:
"If you are experiencing a PS3 game stuck at loading screen issue or your stats have been wiped, these are known bugs. Unfortunately, the fixes that we have built for it have not been deployed for reasons beyond our control. While there are no workarounds, we do encourage people to contact Customer Support at Electronic Arts to voice their concerns or desires ? they can be reached at support.ea.com." ( http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/3329/ ) ...as well as few other less generous and official sounding things in personal conversations on Twitter and such, reported on forums.

The only thing that stops them from outright calling EA out is an understandable reluctance to burn the bridges in the industry.

That's the basic facts, more details can be seen in the text of the petition itself.

Personally I think that Brutal Legend is a great game that deserves a proper responsible support.

If you think that this is important, please show your support by signing the petition below.

I got the PS3 version of Brutal Legend last month, I haven't had any problems in the single player mode.

However, try as I might I have never been able to get a multiplayer game working. Does anyone else have this problem?

I know, he needs to advertise like me.

No, he doesn't have more credibility, but he does have more tact.

I think you may have just been looking at this wrong. This has nothing to do with cred. The OP posted in a gaming forum about a game that he owns that has a bug in it. He cited a source for that information and is asking people who may also be affected to sign a petition in the (albeit futile) hope that the publisher will release said patch.

You response to this was "Advertising Much?" The problem with that is he isn't advertising, he is asking for help. People disagreed with you, and now you are just going back and forth with folk over nothing really, which is why folks are calling you a troll.

Also, by the guidelines on The Escapist, if you think someone is advertising, harassing or creating an issue, you are supposed to just press the "Report" button and NOT comment in the thread and let the admins handle it.

Urgh, this glitch irritated me so much, I spent ages finding the collectables and it broke before I was able to finish. I'm more interested about the people who managed to recieve free games over these complaints though, there are probably plenty of petitions about a patch for the game already and EA clearly don't care. Either way, I won't be buying any EA games any time soon.

actually it does, it mean he/she knows more about the forums and what goes on in them, besides you don't have to be a dick if a guy is trying to get people to sign on a petition to patch a game that he likes....glad i bought the xbox version.
*Cough*secondaccount*Cough*
this is your second account...good for you, but even so, you seem to be acting like an arrogant brat so I still stand by what I said.

/b/?
"/b/" is a message board on 4chan that is almost completely unmoderated and thus is home to the worst of the internet. The people on there are ruthless, cruel, and vile and sometimes coordinate enough to launch "assaults" on other sites. This usually results in the victimized site getting flooded with spam, viruses, and other nasty things.Personally, I like to refer to /b/ as the "asscrack of the internet"

Does anyone not see the simple solution to this glitch?

Delete the game data, which contains the patches. Then boot game when NOT signed in so you aren't prompted/forced to download and install the patches, which created the glitch. Then play the single player without the patches and sign out when you want to play, you'll still get trophies.
