Everyone recommending Intel seems to have missed the point; he already has an AM2+ setup. It depends on his specific board, but I'm fairly sure that the AM3 processors will be backwards compatible with AM2/AM2+ boards, so upgrading to a Phenom II would be the cheapest and, in my opinion, most efficient upgrade. That being said, if you want performance, OP, and are willing to pay more for it, definitely go Intel.

I wouldn't bother upgrading do you actually need a new CPU anyway since all you would be buying is a faster one not one with new features.
Socket AM2+ processors (Code Name: Deneb 45 nm) are scheduled for a January 8th 2009 launch (consumer electronics show)

Phenom 2
Phenom II is the updated brand name for AMD's 45nm multicore central processing units. Socket AM2+ version of Phenom II will be released in January 2009 while February will see Socket AM3 versions of the same along with 3 core processors [12].

The Phenom II range of CPUs are the first series of AMD CPUs to eliminate the "cold bug" (A physical phenomenon which causes the processor to cease functioning below a certain temperature. This bug prevents the use of "extreme" cooling methods such as Dry Ice or Liquid Nitrogen). With the elimination of this cold bug, these CPUs are expected to overclock to much higher levels than any other AMD CPU range.[13][14]

I meant for business users who'd use rows of computers or a singular powerful server with work terminals. In regards to processing demands and graphic cards, who would need them? All you'd need would be a screen to see your work documents on. Most businesses wouldn't bother with anything other than the bar basics of what they need to run their software which wouldn't be huge.
