Mine is illegal to take out of my house too where i live.
It usually stays beside my bed. I love taking it out and scaring people with it though. I love flipping it because it makes people nervous sometimes.

The general reactions I get are:

A) IT'S LIKE THAT SPY KNIFE IN TF2??? OMG COOL!
B) You're a weirdo, mate.

I do a bit of flipping, but I'm not terribly adept at it. I can smoothly pull off the Spy's horizontal opening, and with a bit of good luck and timing I can pull off one where the handles spin around my thumb and flip the knife open, but those are the only things I've learned so far with my five months owning one.

EDIT: Going to sleep now, I have synagogue in the morning. L'Shanah Tovah if it applies.
