Read it, if I know HOW I'm going to die then it will lend some certainty to my future and I will feel more prepared when the hour of my death arrives.

Well, I would read it.

Knowing is always better than not knowing, right?

Also, there is always the possibility that I could change it, unless it says "Dies peacefully in sleep, aged 112 surrounded by family and friends."

I might also consider burning the book, since it's no worse than I've done to other books whose endings I despised.

you know, looking at all these answers, its quite strange to see that everyone automatically presumes that the book tells truth, just becaus they're mind tells them so... :p

Argh! You've changed the conditions!

For this new and uncertain model, I'd probably start eating the book. Mmmm, knowledge.

I'd probably assume that it was bullshit and read it anyway.

I'll take the book, walk up to a random person, hand it to them and say, "Written in this book is how you will die." Then I will walk away.
Although this would be more fun. Haha.

I would read it.
If it said something like "You will die taking a shit with a laptop while browsing the escapist." I would motherfucking make a god damn heavenly thread and go take a crap, bringing my laptop into the shitter with me.

I'd look at it.
I wouldn't try and avoid my own death though, unless it was like "eaten by a shark", it's relatively easy to stay away form sharks.
