I have pierced ears for my earrings. That's about it.

Part of me still thinks I would't mind a nose ring or belly button ring. Though I'd probably get the belly button as you can pretty much conceal that when you work.

And since I never take off my earrings, it would save me effort of having to remove my nose piercing on a regular basis.

I also don't have any, and I don't plan on getting any simply because it's not me. I salute to all of those with multiple piercing and tattoos because I can barely stand a single needle piercing my skin a year, let alone multiple and even thousands at one time.

I love my tattoos. I do miss my eyebrow piercing, though. I got ripped out a few years ago. Haven't replaced it and the scar is almost gone.

Edit: I'm into tattoos way more then getting pierced. They tell the story of me, and my morbid mind

Eh, I saving this virgin skin for useful body modification. Like earring that's also an mp3 or a glow-in-the-dark tattoo that doesn't give you cancer.

So after recently getting my 5th piercing (Eyebrow) which was by far the most painful one I've had to date, and quite a few people being all "OHH WHY WOULD YOU EVEN?", I was wondering escapists; who of you has piercings, tattoos or other forms of body modification?

If you don't have any, would you want to get any? If not, why not? Do you find them attractive? And what is the worst piercing/tattoo/body mod you've ever seen?

Lets have a civil conversation about putting metal in ourselves to get away from the gender wars and politics for a change!

(Also there was a thread on this, but I didn't fancy necro'ing a year old thread.)
Since your asking I thought I'd ask myself. I mean there's the "OHH WHY WOULD YOU EVEN?" But serious question, Why did you get piercing? I'm just really curious.
Edit: I'm asking cause you brought up a point that I hear more why people don't get piercings than do.

I have about 20 tattoos (too many to list, but I have an almost finished sleeve and a chestpiece just to name a few) and 3 piercings (nostril, a 18mm tunnel in my left ear and a small piercing above that).
I used to have around 15-20 piercings, I kind of used to be a Scene kid when I was like 16? I'm thankful that I grew up, I would have kicked the crap out of 16 year old me.

EDIT: I thought I'd add that my very first tattoo was the Konohagakure symbol from Naruto.

Woops I think I quoted myself instead of editing.

I quite like em. Haven't got any piercings or tattoos so far, mainly because my parents hate them with a passion. That may well change as soon as I go off to uni though...

First piercings will be:
Labret (middle lower lip)
Eyebrow

Then some ear ones, not sure where exactly yet.

As for tattoos, those will have to wait until I have more money. Probably going for shoulders first, then buildings sleeves, then back. The designs will be my own, inspired by some of Gojira's songs and those of my other favourite bands + some other things that are important to me.

I've got one tattoo, and even then I'm generally against them. If it's something important to you, like mine is to me, great, go for it, but don't really see the appeal for people who just go and plaster themselves with whatever.

Even more so for piercings, as I'm not sure how getting holes punched in any particular part of your body can have any personal meaning in the way that a tattoo could, it's just arbitrary self mutilation.

None for me. I don't find them attractive, don't like the idea of them, and whenever I see someone with a tongue piercing I get the troubling feeling that they feel immense pain everytime they eat something big.

I'd love to get Tattoos and some Piercings, but I'm not allowed Tattoos (unless I already had them beforehand; I'm not allowed to get any while in) training, and I'm not allowed to get any piercings full stop.

Piercings... I have my septum and apadravya currently. I used to have my tongue done, but it was damaging my gums so I had to get rid of it. I also used to have my nipples and lower navel done but they didn't heal properly so I had to take them out too :( I don't have any tattoos but that's not from lack of want, but more from a lack of inspiration. I find both piercings and tattoos attractive on people, provided they're not absurd as I've seen some pretty bad tattoos. The ones I really don't understand are people who brand themselves... such as the guy I saw with a Monster Energy tattoo on his arm... It seems so tacky and 'rampant consumerism-y'.

Aye I often garner some funny looks when I'm out in the city just from something like a nose ring on a guy. That said, being in England, I get funny looks for having long hair, it's ridiculous how judgmental people are here, even complete strangers have commented.
I live in England and have long hair too :p and I've got to agree with you, I was once stopped in a mcdonalds by a drunk man who insisted on pointing out everything about me he didn't see as right, it was really annoying.

Two tattoos, no piercings.

I love body modification, if money was no object, I'd be getting tons more ink, some piercings, and getting my ears elfed.

I have my right earlobe pierced three times and my left one time. I don't know why, I'll probably balance it out eventually.
I have one tattoo. It's not very big or impressive but I love it and I suppose that's what counts.

Meh. I have 30 piercings and 7 tattoos. I obviously like them and on other people.

The only one I dislike is massively stretched ears, to the point of you'll need them stitched up up to close them, and when people get their tongue sliced so it looks like a Snakes or something.

I'm asking why you'd do that, but mostly because eyebrow piercings are silly. Those suckers get ripped out SO quickly.

OT: Thanks to the wonders of Omegle and the penis game (1st to 100 points wins. 1 penis = 1 point. The more interesting the penis, the more points), I've seen a prince albert and WHY THE SHITTING BUTTS DOES THAT SEEM LIKE A GOOD IDEA?!

I love piercings and tattoos. I think tattoos are beautiful, like art, if original and consistent. Not just some sloppy ink thrown on at random. As for piercings, I just have a fondness for them. They're not special or have meaning but are just cool looking or pretty.

I have pierced ears but haven't worn earrings for a really long time. I've pierced my septum multiple times and I'll probably do it again but usually let it heal up by accident (Like losing a ring).

As for tattoos, I don't have any yet because I'm underage and there's now way my parents would let me. However, I already have some pretty awesome ideas.

dont have and never would get a piercing of any kind, i just find the idea of metal invading the body to be well horrifying. not sure if its from a cousin with a big metal pin in his knee after a bike crash or the works of giger and co but it gives me the creeps.
Odly it doesnt bother me on other people.

Tattoo no, i dont think i ever will , nothing against them just dont know of anything i want to have printed on me for the rest of my life. again dont mind them on others and some look very nice, but there are plenty of clear errors

If anybody is of that mindset of "I am only going to get tattoos that mean something to me" and tell me what you think of people like me, who get meaningless ones 'cos I am quite interested.
Hi! I'm somewhat of that mindset. I don't really resent "meaningless" tattoos, I actually only resent people who go to the tattoo studio, say they want a tattoo, open Google and pick the first picture that comes out of Google search (I've witnessed it personally). Well, "resent" is a pretty strong word; I actually just think they are far more likely to regret getting a tattoo (and the myth of regretting your tattoos when you're older probably mostly comes from people doing that). However, if you decided to get a tribal, picked a design carefully and thought about it for more than half an hour, I've got nothing against that. But I'm immediately suspicious about people who go get a tattoo for the sake of getting a tattoo, people who don't put much thought in the design of it and don't think that having something on your skin for the rest of your life should be carefully decided.

Anyway, on topic, I have six tattoos. Each has a meaning on its own and they all have a combined meaning as well. I'm a sucker for symbolism and meanings so. They are; one rune on both of my hands, one symbol on the upper part of my back, one symbol on my right leg, one word in Greek alphabet on my stomach (bellow the bellybutton) and one longer inscription in Latin on my ribs (left side).

When it comes to piercings, I am never going to get one done because I have an extremely paranoid thought of having a piercing and it getting ripped off. It's one of the most unnerving things I can think of (and yes, I've heard of stories from my friends of piercings getting ripped off. Most recent was from my cousin who got her earring ripped. I mean, her skin that the earring was attached to. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it). On other people, I don't care; it can look attractive or ridiculous, but that depends on the person.
