Lot of hatred for piercings in this thread, I love 'em. I'm a guy and I've got eyebrow, left lobe, left tregus, right conch, tongue.

When i was a kid my older brother and his friend got nipple piercings and since i looked up to them i always wanted to have ones. When i turned 18 i secretly got them but i took them off a month later because of the hazzle of mantining them, hiding them from my family and i already felt that i did what i wanted to do and it wasn't that big of a deal to me now. I about to turn 25 now.

I have a lip and eyebrow piercing, and I don't even notice them anymore. They're hardly an inconvenience. Just a choice. I think they're perfectly fine as long as there's not too many, of course, just like anything else. I like relatively tasteful tattoos as well, but I wouldn't get one.

Surprised no-ones mentioned the sexual nature of piercings yet. The tongue piercing has a very practical use as well as an aesthetic one...

I like piercings, as long as they look good on a person. For example, some of my friends have lip piercings now and they all look like shit. However, lip piercings can look incredibly hot on some.

I have a cartilage piercing too, high up on my left ear. I wanted it there because I think it looks quite nice, but at the same time if I ever get tired of it, the hole can easily be hidden by my hair. It's a win-win situation. I don't think I'll get anything on my face though. If I ever need to get a conventional job, facial piercings won't help me get one.

I think in the future I'll get my earlobes pierced.

I currently have 8 ear piercings, snakebites and a vertical labret.
I used to have an eyebrow piercing, an anti-eyebrow and a cheek piercing.

Needless to say I love piercings and if I didn't have to work, I'd probable get a lot more.
It's weird to say, but once you start getting piercings, it becomes extremely addicting.

Never pierced never intend to be, everytime I see a bloke with a face full of pins I strain myself not to walk up and tear each one of them out.

Though instead of wanting to tear them out when I see that, I laugh to myself behind thier back.

Also pirecings just arn't my thing.

Your parents are evil! There's nothing more disgusting that a child under the age of 12-ish with pierced ears. I hate it.

That's a bit harsh. My mother took me to have mine done when I was six or seven, which is very out of character for her as a) she is very strict and never allowed me to have or do anything when I was younger and b) well, just a actually, there is no b.

But she would not have taken me if I had not wanted them done, and before you conclude anything about her as a mother, let me tell you that she only allowed me and my sister organic food as children, she disciplined us properly, and never spoilt us, and she was just basically anything but evil (that didn't start happening until I hit 13), and she certainly was not negligent as a mother.

I wouldn't say they look disgusting... but I don't see the point in them. Even on girls. Yes, they may look all shiny and nice sometimes, but really all a peircing does is cause a hassle in trying to maintain your hole in your... whatever you peirced and paying for new earrings or whatever to put in them.

Waste of money, time, and energy.

And I fucking hate needles... so that probably says a lot about why I won't be getting any peircings anytime soon, other than what was stated above

I had a monroe, and thought it looked quite nice, wasn't too flashy.

But I had to take it out cause it started to mess up my gums where it would constantly rub. :[ I miss it.

I also used to have my belly button pierced, but it got a bit old, so I just took it out.

On guys, I don't really like facial piercings, but if he pulls it off nicely it'll do. ^^ Ear piercings are fine, not huge gauges though. They smell y'know?

So I'm pretty neutral overall.
