Well that wouldn't be a lie, it would be a prediction. As for the OP, if he said "My nose is growing", then that would be a lie, and his nose would start to grow. That doesn't mean his previous statement is true, because at the point in time that he said it, his nose was not growing.Tekkawarrior said:It's "My nose will grow"

Pinocchio says "My nose will grow".
What happens?
EDIT: Thanks.
A prediction can also be false or true, if I say "I will pee my self now" there are two outcomes:Icecoldcynic said:Well that wouldn't be a lie, it would be a prediction. But that's not you actively lying, it's you being wrong. If I said a plane would crash, and then it didn't, that's not me telling a lie, it's just me being wrong. Look at it this way: Pinnochio has no idea what is about to happen, so he can't exactly be LYING about it, but he CAN be WRONG about it.Tekkawarrior said:A prediction can also be false or true, if I say "I will pee my self now" there are two outcomes:Icecoldcynic said:Well that wouldn't be a lie, it would be a prediction. 1) I do pee, which means I told the truth
2) I don't pee, which means I told a lie
I see what you mean, but I'm going to have disagree, simply because the whole delima is spicifically trying to show that he IS lying, otheriwise the whole thing wouldn't be as interesting.Icecoldcynic said:But that's not you actively lying, it's you being wrong. If Pinocchio falls in the woods, does he make a sound? If so, is it the sound of one hand clapping?AndrewOfHell said:Pinocchio's nose will grow if he is lying.
