This thought hit me when I heard Armada of the Damned was cancelled - why are there so few good vampire/pirate games? The concepts are awesome. Undeads that have personality and people who just rape and pillage, why are there so few good games with them in compared to the overload of zombies? There's not been a good pirate one since Monkey Island and the only vampire game I can remember is Vampire Rain...which is best forgotten.

And now the totally awesome looking AOTD was canned in favour of Lego POTC, upsetting me greatly - I love the lego games but AOTD looked like the pirate game I really want. In fact, I set Rockstar a challenge. You've made cowboys and soon to make detectives awesome, have a go at pirates. And vampire...well, leave Bethesda to it. There.

Topic: Why are there so few good vampire/pirate games, and would you like more?

I recently got my hands on Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines and while I haven't gotten very far, it does a pretty good job making you feel like a powerful creature among puny mortals, which is amusing.
So yes, I would like some more vampire games... Just as long as they aren't related in any to Twilight... Unless they let us kill the characters from that franchise?

As for Pirate games, eh. I've never really been into pirates, so no comment I guess

Pirates:

Sid Meier's Pirates. It's on Steam for $10.

Vampires:

VtM:B always comes to mind (and just by mentioning it, you're going to cause someone to reinstall it).

They're have been a few mods for Oblivion that really do some nice things for Vampirism, like adding Vampire exclusive quest-lines and Vampire Hunters

There's also this:

I was going to point to Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines as well. To a lesser extent V:TM:Redemption, due to age and because Bloodlines was just a better game.

For hardcore Redemption fans, chill. Bloodlines lets you be different characters and changes the experience depending on what clan you are from.

The only ones that come to mind is Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (vampire) and Sid Meier's Pirates.

There are some mods for games.

For example, Pirates, Vikings & Knights for the Source Engine.

I was looking forward to the Pirates of the Carribean game, actually, but they cancelled it. It had promise.

And also Captain Blood came out not too long ago (pirate game) although they completely and utterly butchered what is easily one of the coolest books I've ever read.

This time it was me...Damn, where did I put that disk?

For adventure games, try A Vampyre Story.

Also Legacy of Kain. And pirates...well there's the Monkey Island series.
