I love Pixar, but I was disappointed that they made Cars 2 instead of an original piece. Now, we have a teaser trailer for there next film, 'Brave'.
Here is a quote from the Pixar website:

'Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In Brave, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida?s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it?s too late.'

And here is the Teaser trailer:

Scottish and English roles actually being played by Scottish and English actors. I approve this movie.

The only thing that would make this trailer better was if the bear had tentacles, THEN we would be on to something!

It looks typically good by Pixar standards, but to me it seems to be a Celtic response to How to Train Your Dragon.

So, like a cross between Harry Potter and How to Train Your Dragon? At first glance, it appears only slightly more original than any other sequel out there. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised, but after hearing about the obvious cash-grab Toy Story 4, I'm losing faith in Pixar. Maybe I'm just getting too cynical.

well, i rarely say thins, but this movie looks gorgeous.
and considering i found up's art and animation to look horrible, that's saying something.

this could very well be a great movie, but the trailer is way too short to be able to predict anything about the storyline.

it could be the next LOTR, or it could be just another WOW rip-off. we'll see.

Very interested in seeing how well Pixar handles a female protagonist, especially a princess. There's nothing wrong with princesses, or young girls liking them, they should just be handled better than Disney has typically done.

Tangled and MLP:FiM have already started to show that girly entertainment can be done well, need not be damaging to a girl's self-esteem or future goals or whatever, and can also appeal to a very wide audience. I very much hope that trend continues.

Or if it was an Owlbear! That would've caught me completely off guard!

Scenery porn. Oh yes. The whole thing, especially the main character, remind me of Jane and the Dragon.

Not that it's a bad thing!

Um, yeah?
Most people think Toy Story just keeps getting better, and it would be a hard argument to say that the series is getting significantly worse with new entries. Just because the number's getting big, doesn't mean its a cash grab.
To deal with this level of cynicism, I must prescribe a Toy Story marathon night. With friends and kettle corn.
And a kitten if you can find one.

I don't know too much about this movie, but the pony's pretty awesome. Its nice to see a mount in an animated movie that's not the anthropomorphized, silent comic relief.
And its Pixar, its going to be good.

While I find the female character look abit odd but the rest is stunning as usual from Pixar. I still have faith that this would be a good film despite the recent flop with Cars 2.

A Pixar film, "set" in Scotland? I'm okay with that! :)

Funny, I just remembered a good number of years ago I was reading in some film magazine about upcoming Pixar films and one was called The Bow and the Bear (or was it the other way around?). Judging by the presence of both a bow and a bear in this trailer, I'm guessing this is that film, albeit having undergone a name change.

Though even from that blurb you have quoted from the Pixar site, I'm havign trouble picturing what the film is actually about.
