Neat, my version has massive issues on my current machine (that no patches/fixes have actually fixed). A version for a tablet at a decent price appeals a lot to me.
Out of curiousity you do know the BG enhanced editions are being made primarily for PC right? Also that if BG3 or this would come into existence they would certainly follow the same pattern?ElectroJosh said:Neat, my version has massive issues on my current machine (that no patches/fixes have actually fixed). Yes, but current versions of BG work just fine on my PC... I might be getting ahead of myself with the whole "working on a tablet thing".80Maxwell08 said:Out of curiousity you do know the BG enhanced editions are being made primarily for PC right? IF they can improve the gameplay, such as fully implement the 2 or 3E D&D then I'm in!80Maxwell08 said:Ok odds are you know about the enhanced editions for the Baldur's Gate games. If you don't know then Trent Oster, the head of Beamdog who are doing the remakes, has said that the 2 remakes of BG1&2 are leading up to BG3. Now he has also said that after they finish those they want to do a remake of Planescape Torment. This isn't a rumor or confirmation since on his twitter he said they want to but that doesn't mean they will or have permission to. Here's the link to his twitter to check it out for yourselves.

Well Planescape Torment is the one I really want since I tend to like Black Isle/Obsidian's work more than Bioware's so I really hope they will be able to but I do have some fears for it. Beamdog makes sense for the BG games since they were started by ex-Bioware members but Black Isle work? Well at least by the time they would get around to it they would have a lot of knowledge with the Infinity Engine so there wouldn't be a lot of bugs but what about adding new content? How would they do that without getting Obsidian themselves or at least some ex-Black Isle members? Ok new news they have said the Planescape Torment remake along with BG3 will be decided on the financial success of the enhanced editions. People let's get on that in a few months when they actually release the BG enhanced edition. Please. Do it for the children.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOBreakfastMan said:I don't mind some reading, but it was just ridiculous in PS:T. Seriously, they actually took the time to describe, in dialogue, the stuff I was actually seeing on the screen. That is just... Absurd. And entirely useless to boot. I got the feeling that ol' Chris Avellone really wanted to write a book about this, but could not for some reason. So, he made a game and shoved his book in there instead. Cut some of that useless stuff out ("cutting the fat", so to speak), and it would have been a much better game, instead of a game with a book shoved into it awkwardly. :/Harb said:That would be probably the biggest sin that could've been ever done to PS:T. I'm sorry to say, but if you don't want to read, you probably picked a wrong game. Planescape is great because of all the additional informations you get - e.g. "battle" with Ravel through dialogue is stunningly good.
Sorry mate, but your attitude is wrong on this one.
Captcha: "easy as cake" again!
Agreed. The only reason to play PS:T is because of the amazing book-like story. To cut down on it would be ridiculous.Imbechile said:SNIP
I agree. If you can afford them; buying these games can show developers people are still interested in old school RPG experience. Still, they'll have to be sold in large numbers for publishers to even consider financing future projects (with obscene development costs for modern games). And now I'm sadPat8u said:if you love these games and want more of them it would be best to buy them even if you think they are pointless
Interesting idea there. But I'd be less for a sequel than I'd be for a spin-off, the more or less same story told from different perspectives, discovering how Annah, Morte, etc. tie into the story of Torment. Or maybe Deionarra's side of her travels with Practical, as a prequel.Bara_no_Hime said:A Planescape: Torment remake would be totally fucking awesome!
I still have the original, but I'd love to see an update. Or, dare I wish, a sequel. Perhaps the characters from the first game seeking out the soul of the Nameless one?
Dude... You are effectively asking them to cut out the parts that made the game as awesome as it is.BreakfastMan said:That would be nice. Seconded. Yes, the combat in Torment wasn't its strong point, and having to wait for nearly two minutes every time you cast Celestial Host got kind of exhausting, but that's not what the game was about in the first place. Asking to make Torment less reading, more action is like asking to make CoD less shooting, more roleplaying. And we RPG folks don't go about telling people to make shooters to suit us.Tayh said:Dude... Please don't. We don't need anymore mindless "rpg" button mashers.

No, I am not. I am asking them to make it more like a game instead of a book. Like I would ask Kojima to make his games more like a game instead of a movie. I mean, come on. It got just a little bit ridiculous when I was reading stuff describing the environment that I was looking at. That is at visual novel stage right there. Polish that up, and the game would be much better.Imbechile said:NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
If you don't like reading too much, then this game is not for you. They just need to make the gameplay as engaging as the story. Bring the gameplay at least on par with Baldur's gate.
Not sure if trolling... Or actually serious.BreakfastMan said:No, I am not. I am asking them to make it more like a game instead of a book.
