Still waiting for a beta key. Not sure if i want to buy in due to lack of oceania servers (its coming the devs say)

But it looks badass. I need me a decent scifi to play

Ive been playing the beta off and on for about 2 months now and if you like FPS games then its ok. The part that just kills it for me is there being no destructable cover. I came to PS2 from battlefield (and before that CoD) and I find it exceptionally hard to flush out people in a fortified position with just well tossed grenades. If I could blow out a wall and open them up to more then just a few angles we could clear them out easily but you cant do that. Its not like it couldnt be done, you could just set the facility to repair itself when it was taken or defended

The other thing I dislike is the max spam. I heard they were supposed to fix it but last I played (about a week ago) people could just load up on endless max's to hold/take points. It caused a lot of problems when you tried to take biodomes because your heavy assault guys just couldnt put enough rockets down range to make a dent in the defense. Perhaps my biggest complaint is the friendly fire

Those are my only big complaints about the game. There are some minor things like how the heavy assaults LMG isnt very useful at long range, it seems to easy to gun someone out of an engineer turret, or that infiltrators usually have to play more of a support/sniper role.

I havnt done much in ground vehicles just because I fly so much so I dont think Im experienced enough to talk about that. However Im almost always flying a Scythe which, without certs, is the most maneuverable aircraft in the game. The air combat is very responsive and feels great. It is kind of annoying to constantly go back to the landing pads to get more ammo though.

Now for infantry combat its pretty much the same as any aim down sites FPS with a few bells and whistles. Its easy to flank people with the massive maps. I recall seeing a video where the NC were pushing against TR but both had a really good defensible position behind cover. Then the NC used the local voice chat to send some people up to flank the right side and the TR was wiped out in just a few minutes. However that was in the open, fighting just a couple hundred yards off a facility. When you get into facility combat its just madness. Unless you're working with a squad or preferably an outfit taking anything big can be exceptionally hard but small facilities tend to be fast to take and only a few people to fight over it with.

My final thoughts are, its not a perfect game but it is really really really good. I have a lot of fun in infantry combat and even more in the sky. Since its going to be a free to play game there really is no reason not to give it a try when it goes live

I have only seen footage from TBs videos but it looks awesome. What I hear of it makes it sound like the perfect shooter MMO game I alway's dreamed of when I thought about MMOs. Im looking forward to trying it out as it looks damn epic.

Just realized my computer can't play it, I'm a very sad panda at the moment.

I am looking forward to it but I fear I might feel a little ... unimportant. Can I really make a difference in a game like that?

Well to recap my thoughts from earlier discussions:

GIVE ME A FUCKING BETA KEY

SERIOUSLY GUYS, I'LL DO ANYTHING, JUST INVITE ME OR SOMETHING

I guess I could buy into it, but that'd be too easy.

From what ive seen its what Battlefield would be like if it decided reality was for pansies.

Which im totally ok with, but i cant get my talons on a beta key.

I got a key legit through email, after waiting until the second update, not by pestering them through facebook.
Simply superb game, fantastic graphics, the scale of the map is amazing, vehicles handle great, combat is faced paced, but tactical and very fun.
Will probably buy alpha squad just to give my money to these guys, they deserve it.

Its ok, but I have some complaints

1.) The Weapons lack uniqueness and "Impact". Whenever I shoot it it doesn't really feel like I'm hititng anyone. And all the classes look a bit too similar.

2.) THe UI is horrid. Confusing and Ugly. Needs to be reworked.

3.) More customization options. Add wrinkles and scars to my characters face. Maybe something like EVE Online? Also, the customization of Armour pieces should be more like Blacklight.

4.) This game needs more Space Warfare. Something like Battlefront 2 but bigger. My erection would not be contain in my pants if they were to do that.
