I read and play games and watch movies and binge Amazon or Netflix shows. I'm on paid leave from work, which is nice - just clock in a couple of hours a day on my laptop. We're on the brink of a lockdown here so I'm sort of holding my breath on what happens next. So far there's only been 3 deaths and quarantaine is recommended but not obligatory. Hopefully this changes soon.

EDIT: Lo, 12 days of mandatory quarantine. Going out punishable by 6 months to 2 years prison. There're caveats about shopping in nearby pharmacies and supermarkets but I don't intend to return to the outside world before April.

I'm one of maybe 10 at an office of hundreds still coming in every day. The nature of some of my duties requires it, although I can contact in for some things.

My country has instituted voluntary (for now) work from home advisories, and most places are going ahead. Downtown is spooky. Almost looks like a police state since most people still walking around are cops, Meter maids or other people in uniform. Construction is still happening too I suppose.

In the afternoons I'm seriously just playing the satisfactory update. It's pretty solid but I'll probably need something new soon. Maybe watchdogs for free (thank you chimpzy).

You lot are so lucky, I work in the funeral industry so while most of Britain shuts down around me, I still have to go to work because people still insist on dying. The selfish so and so's. I did try to talk my manager into letting me work from home but he was having none of it. Spoilsport.

But I have a week off in a weeks time so I will be doing not a lot. Persona 5 R will be coming out in that week so I will be mostly playing that.

I've taken leave for the next 3 weeks, as they were encouraging staff who can to do so. Still working on Saturdays for now, but otherwise, 3 week holiday...where I stay at home for most of it.

...awesome!

If it makes you feel better, most people still have to either work from home or go in and a lot of people I know are being told they are being made redundant while having to teach their kids at home now, so, silver lining.

I've been in Work-From-Home Isolation mode for a week already. I'm managing.

I planned for 2 maybe 3 weeks, but now it looks like it might be longer. I am NOT relishing the thought of either making the 20 minute walk to the local grocery store or having to pay for them to deliver my stuff. :s

Aside from needing to go back to working remotely, this is barely different than normal for me. Outside of when a friend is running a LARP, I barely go out and do anything. XD

I know it doesn't help much, but at least you have job security. Unless they invent a cure for Death.

We've been told to work from home until at least April 2nd, and it sucks. +2,000 people all using our VPN and everything is running super S L O W. The upside is that the lag gives me lots of periods of downtime I've been filling up playing not a backlog of games, but playing some older ones, ones I've not played in years. Currently playing Dark Sector and man, I'd forgotten how good this game is! Controls are a bit dated, but it's still really good.

I'm trying to watch some movies, play some games, in an attempt to take my mind off things. This is gonna fuck a lot of people, myself included.

Based on what I'm seeing in my state in Brazil, I'm hoping we have some magical immunity. Hospital workers threatening to go on strike because they have no masks, gloves or soap, public hospitals already on the verge of collapse in normal conditions, before coronavirus, football teams offering to turn their training facilities into temp hospitals... And everyone is acting like it's just another normal day. Parks, beaches, malls, street markets... I guess there's no zombies in the streets so it's fine.

Being one of the expendable broom monkey caste, I don't get to benefit from lockdown and working from home is not an option. My sorry ass has to keep on finding bodily fluids to clean while people around me are catching up on their Netflix and Minecraft.

On top of that, the Trumpbux given to the quarantined is literally going to be more than I earn in an equivalent time actually risking my health.

Ain't it great to be me? :(
Quit complaining, celebrities are going crazy inside their mansions...

And now I'm not working on Saturdays. So, I'm free across the week for at least 3 weeks, and off Saturdays for at least 4 weeks. After that, well, we'll see.

Not gonna lie, I'm actually pretty annoyed. I live in (what should be) probably the safest country in the world for this kinda thing (New Zealand). And yet, inaction and pussyfooting by our incompetent government has led to the virus being let in and taking a foothold.

So now it feels like I'm stuck in a bad doomsday movie that never seems to end.

Well, the state declared all non-essential businesses are to be closed.
Fun fact, I'm in construction (electrician) and it turns out construction was deemed an "essential" business.
Now, I work in NYC, and it makes sense that it's essential if it's like, hospital or subway construction.

But I'm working on a HOTEL. For a CASINO. That's CLOSED.

We were basically told that we're not shutting down unless the government, state, city, or unions say to shut down.

So yeah. Business as usual for me.

Well hey, if Gamestop is essential, I guess that is to. And hey, they consider having shiny floors and non-smudged glass to be absolutely essential services here.

Nah, the safest country is Madagascar or Greenland. A single port that shuts down when someone sneezes on the far size of the globe.

I work in a grocery store so my plans consist of going to work, bitching about stupid/rude customers and hoping I don't catch the virus .

Work from home which I prefer anyway so it's fine. Have to ofcourse also take trip to grocery store and plan optimal route to retrieve that last roll of toilet paper and reach extraction point before other people who can't wipe their ass start closing in on the two meter social distancing gap and accidentally sneeze. It's like.... xD

Why not? It's clear our current administration is incompetent in face of a crisis(and generally the rest of the time). If you can't eject such people now, when can you do it?
