Personally I'm fed up with how often these Evony adds crop up. Any game that relies on boobs to get attention (other than Soul Calibur and BloodRayne) is bound to be crap, so it's nice to see someone taking the piss out of them.

4. The ads about the teeth whitening technique invented 'by a mom', that the people in charge of the ads have seen fit to spam all over the place, commonly three or more times on a single page.

Yeah, the newest ads have nothing to do with the setting, the logo is barly even visible. It's just some (extremely hot) woman with her boobs trying to escape.

The creators (who the hell makes all these craptastical interface-based MMOS anyway?) must have thought "Boobs. People will click on them. Thank goodness you wrote this. The more and more I see these ads, the more I start to go "Well, they're obviously selling me sex, but they seem to be everywhere, so maybe they put some of that money into the game."

those evony adds are just annoying. its about as bad as porn-adds.

I find porn ads to be hilarious. They're great because they're so transparent. It's like if you gave an eight year old with ADD a college course on marketing; he'd hear half of it, and steal the rest from other ads he's seen around. All of them purport to be the "best on the net" and they all use the same stock footage of women, but with some of the usernames changed and the message differed slightly. How can the same woman be Bumpy341 in Providence, but SexKitten892 in Harrisburg? It doesn't make any sense!

Internet advertising in general has alot of quite cringy things, social networking is another area that is particularly hilarous, especially the ones tailored to fit what the ad people think your profile means. My facebook pace for example showed for a long time that I was single, so every add on the site for me was essentially along the lines of "Find Sexy Singles in York/New York" or "10 saucy chatlines garunteed to work!". It's not that suprising I guess when you realise that social networking is in fact only one step up from Porn, but hey.
