Hey Escapist,

I'm thinking of buying the game of the year edition of Borderlands. I'm leaning towards the PC, but I'd like to know if anyone has had any major bugs or problems with the PC that would make the console version a better choice.

I've played a little of it on a friends 360 and enjoyed it quite a bit. If I buy it, the game will be on either the PS3 or my PC. I know what to expect from the console version as I'm pretty sure the only difference between PS3 and the 360 is mostly graphics. I don't own a HDTV, but I played it on one, so I'm not sure how the game will look off HD. I know Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect both had ridiculously hard to read text without HD.

The PC version was decently polished and mostly bug-free when I played it.

Also, mods [http://blmodding.wikidot.com/].

I played it on 360 without HD, but not sure if it works out on PS3. Get it on console, the PC version was an unpolished, buggy mess in comparison.

The multiplayer (Read: Main selling point) on the PC version is a joke. Plus on the console version you get the comfort of twin-sticks.

The PC of course. It's a shooter, therefore a no-brainer of a dilemma.

I have played it on both 360 and PS3. (HD on PS3) and thought it was great. Text is easy to read even on a non-HD TV (except DLC bank menu, But thats more to do with colours and contrast than pixels).

The aim assist for console works well, easy to turn off, It won't aim at the head though so on some bosses you may find it easier to tuen off.

You can mod on 360 don't know about PS3, (probably).

If your into that stuff look for willow tree. Its a modding program for borderlands. I'm pretty sure for all platforms.

Anyway down to personal prefernce and do you know people who play it on PC or on Ps3? thats probably another thing to consider.

But I can't recomend the game enough.

I've played Borderlands on PC and 360 and would definately go for the PC version. It is pretty polished and there are no legibility issues that I can think of. No major problems running it on my medium range gpu with Windows 7 and it looks really good. If you do have any performance issues it is an Unreal game and the ini files can be tampered with to lower fps settings etc. I have no knowledge whatsoever of multiplayer capabilities since I don't do that stuff, what with being an anti-social bastard and everything. Also you can use an XBox controller on the pc if you have one and it works really well with the auto-aim thingy.

I played it on PS3. It was pretty sweet as me and my buddy played through it co-op split screen. He had a big enough TV, we could both see well enough. Good game if you can find someone to play through with you, I didn't like single player all that much, it was much more fun with a friend. Course, most things are.

I have played it on xbox and PC. Now, the main thing you need to have on any platform if friends; play this solo and it's just gonna suck no matter where you play it.

With that aside, I would have to recommend it for the PC over the 360. The differences are minute but PC allows easier modability and what I felt to be a smoother gameplay experience.

As far as bugs go, each platform has basically an equal amount. You will not be getting any more or less by choosing one platform over the other. Some of the bugs are entertaining though so I would embrace that aspect of them rather than get mad over em.

Go to whichever platform you know for sure you will have friends to play this game with. That is the biggest factor without a doubt. If this isn't a problem, or PC is a better option for multiplayer for you, go for PC then.
