no im just being a idiot, sorry its currently 2 in the morning here in sweden, i thought it was "2012 for america and 2013 for europe", my mistake.kitsuta said:I'm hoping my sentence construction didn't confuse you - US and Europe will, as far as I know, be getting the same release date. Certainly the same release year. It'll just take a while to translate all the text normally associated with MMORPGs.felbot said:2013 for europe? well you're to kind.
seriously though this game looks kinda meh, and the fact they're just gonna shaft europe makes me want it even less.

I have rarely been this excited for a game.
2013 cannot come fast enough.
And for those interested, yes it is truly F2P, no box, just a download.
Hey that is nice to know, may see if I can procure an install and check it out.Nalgas D. Just install and run and it's like magic.mfeff said:I heard through the grape vine that the localization for western markets is expected in and around first quarter 2013... so unless you want to hassle with applocale and brush up on your Kanji I think you'll be safe.Scarim Coral said:I would how long we will have to wait for a official release date? I'm guessing it could be a while which is fine by me (I will be preoccupied with GW2 in a month soon).
In that department I don't really hope for all that much... guess we will just be tinkering with profiles and benchmarking for the sweet spot. The shadows sounds like a memory threading "issue", makes me wonder what engine they are running it on... if it's some home-grown.Nice to know that it's officially coming out in the rest of the world in a language I understand though. I hope it's more optimized by then than the benchmark tool was, because that was a little disappointing. The in-game visuals look like something a few years out of date, but if I maxed out all the settings, shadows in particular, it dropped below 60fps for me at times (at 1920x1200 on a 6850 overclocked ~10%).
We all feel the same way over in our part of the world. With some luck be seeing you in game!If the actual gameplay is any good, I will play the hell out of it. My friend and I have been waiting a decade or so for this.
Sega implied that the Western version may use a different system:tetron said:"There are also no details yet on exactly how the microtransaction system, called "Arcs Cash" in Japan, will work or what kinds of items will be on offer. "
Made me chuckle because there are people already purchasing and using AC. The stuff you can buy right now is the usual fare of boosters and vanity items. Although you do need AC to make characters on other ships(servers) after your first one.
Since they made a point of mentioning it in the announcement, I didn't want to assume they'd be using exactly the same system. It's even possible - though unlikely - that they'll eschew microtransactions entirely for some other model. On the other hand, they could just mean details like what kinds of payment methods they'll take.SEGA Blog said:There are, of course, lots of details to be revealed about this model ? we know everyone has questions about how ?Free to Play? will work for the Western version of PSO2, so stay tuned!
The sentence about offline mode was referring to Phantasy Star Online so people who didn't know much about the game could understand why it was unique. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be an offline mode or rhythm-based combat in Phantasy Star Online 2, which works a lot more like a traditional MMORPG. It's possible that those things may happen, but details from Sega were scarce about the gameplay specifics and I don't believe either are currently true for the Japanese version. They may add in offline mode for phones and Vita, though.Danzavare said:Offline mode? Free to play!? FUCK YES! I expected to have to dodge this title because I assumed it was subscription and online-only but yes~! FUCK YES~! HAHAHAHA! Best news on the Escapist EVER!
Fuck that! We got enough Sonic games to last us another decade and keep the rabid fanbase sated i think. What i demand is far greater yet simpler:saintdane05 said:While I make demands, can we get another Sonic Game with the same tone and Gameplay as Sonic Adventure 2?
from what I read, it will have 3 types of "money", one ingame type, one real type, and one that idk what it is, and apparently you can still get what you want by just playing and using ingame moneysaintdane05 said:Please let it be completely free. I don't even want it to need a box, just sign up and download.
Please let it be on Mac.
While I make demands, can we get another Sonic Game with the same tone and Gameplay as Sonic Adventure 2?
Last time I looked (which was earlier this year) it was still up, but it had been moved from where most of the links on the English-language fansites pointed to. You kind of had to poke around a bit to find it, but it was the same file as before so the fan-made translation patch still worked on it.mfeff said:Hey that is nice to know, may see if I can procure an install and check it out.Nalgas D. I kind of haven't been following it as closely for the past few months because I just haven't been able to play games, period, but for a while there it seemed like you had to go out of your way to find information on it sometimes. For people aware of the fan sites that gather every little thing about the game in one place, sure, that's one thing, but I feel kind of like there's been relatively little talk about it elsewhere, except when there's a major announcement like this. It really is suspiciously like someone sent out a memo about not talking about it...tetron said:So did I just miss a memo about not talking about it or are there actually PSO fans who aren't already all over the JP OBT of this game ?
I found a mirror to the character creator/bench... and with your post managed to locate a text patch for the menus, thanks for that.Nalgas D.
