Aw damn it, I've only played like 40-50 hours of Borderlands 2. I'm lagging behind!

I have no idea how many hours I've logged onto that game. The only thing I know, is that I have a save right before CL4P-TP gives his epic speech.

I still want to see him teabag something, though.

I just got 60 hours in Pokemon Black 2, and would get Borderlands 2 if I could run it.

12,000 years Am I the only one that thinks this is sad? Can't help that think it's 12,000 years wasted over 120 lifetimes.

And I haven't even come to visit there yet. ^^

Sounds big, but I'm sure these numbers are tiny compared to MMORPGs. How many thousands of years did WoW get in its first month?

Still, good on Gearbox. From what I've heard, they've learnt from the criticisms of Borderlands and basically remade it, refined it, based on that. Not too many developers do that these days.

It's sad really. If we took those same 12,000 years and focused them towards cancer research, we could have discovered a cure for a few strains of it.
That's not how cancer works. You can't just cure "a few strains of it" when it's literally the same thing no matter where it is.

Also, there IS no "cure" for cancer. You currently have safe amounts of cancerous cells floating through you right now. All we can do is develop better treatments.

OT: Impressive. I have friends who won't stop raving about it, so maybe I'll pick it up on sale (the first one didn't impress me).

As someone else said, that's each person who bought it spending 15-25 hours on it since launch day.

Do you just hate ALL leisure? I mean, if everyone in the world cloudwatches/naps/plays a game/visits with a friend for less than half an hour one day, that's billions of "wasted" hours.

And 11,300 of those years were spent taking guns out of boxes and cabinets. I kid, I kid.

Because if we just cared enough, all gamers would immediately enroll in medical school and take jobs as researchers. Right?

What medical facility do you work for, by the way? Because, of course, I assume that if you take such a high-and-mighty viewpoint, you obviously have put your money where your mouth is and eschew all idle pursuits in your quest to vanquish cancer.

And if we focused the time you spent on posting this, we'd be a step closer to a cure as well, I bet.

My first thought was "Wait ... Already?!", but then I realized it's just a matter of how many people got it by now ... Which is a crapton, apparently.

Remember when Michael Pachter said BL1 was doomed to fail?

Yeah, and I'm sure you spend absolutely no time relaxing and are always doing something productive.
