6am is cool to do sometimes.

Playing multiplayer Master of Orion 2 for 3 days straight ... when you start hallucinating it's a BAD sign.

Stayed up until 1 am playing Assassin's Creed 2 last week. That's as late as I'm willing to go.

I try my best not to over play a new game. 1-2AM and I normally go to bed. If I stay up to 6AM it is a very good game or Im laning with friends. So many times with friends do I stay awake to 3AM easy right to 6AM. We choose at 6 either to go get a few hours sleep or a lor of caffeine.

I reckon my tiredness stops any immersion, but I'm not very good at all-nighters, the most I've stayed up to on the computer was 3AM, but that wasn't just gaming, also on the Escapist.

I love it when the game catches my attention like that. Sid Meier's Pirates and both assassin's creed have done it to me let's see whether Brotherhood will manage to do the same.

The latest I usually game 'til is 2am. But for that to happen I have to REALLY want to play the game(Fallout 3, Mass Effect 2).

While I'm currently on a 40 hour all nighter, I have NEVER stayed up all night just for a game. Though ATM I'm having a hard time being torn away from Alan Wake.
How ironic. The temptation to spend all night on a game called Alan Wake. :p

I think you have it backwards.

The reason you stayed up late (Or early in this case) is BECAUSE the game had you hooked.

My dad calls it "Tunnel-vision" and it can happen to me just about any time of the day. If I'm really into a game, either because of its art, story, or gameplay, my body will literally need no food, water, sleep, etc until I am satisfied; usually by beating the game.

Case and point, I had a roughly 17-hour marathon of Metal Gear Solid 4 two days ago, from starting the game, to finishing it, while watching every cutscene, etc. I didn't eat/drink/go to the bathroom, at all. I didn't even feel fatigue after the binge.

This also happened to me with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, and World of Warcraft.

Yeah if my schedule is pretty free the following day, sometimes, I can't wait and stay up too long. Last night, my friend and I stayed up all night playing online split screen black ops. Probably will pass out for about 4 hours now. :D

I know what you mean about the immersion. Having no distractions is an easy way to have time soar by. I have to monitor myself when playing RPG games of an evening or time will get away from me.

I have to wake up at 6am, so obviously I'm not staying up that late. Course, I'm not that young anymore, so I wouldn't have the energy anyway.

On a weekend, I can probably stay up until 1 or 2am if I'm really into something.

During these holidays my sleep cycle has just disappeared. I always play games late if I know I can still get the sleep I need and there is nothing else to do. But I will never force myself to stay awake to play games though.
I see nothing wrong with it, I mean, who doesn't like gaming?

I know exactly what you mean, I used to suffer from insomnia so I was constantly tired, but I got all my best gaming done late at night/early in the morning, problem is I find myself actually falling asleep nawadays so no late night gaming marathons for me :(, on the plus side it's done wonders for my reaction time and ability to solve puzzles.

It's like magic. On my days off, I can just sit in front of my 360 playing Fallout until the roomies go to sleep, and then I just fall in. I've literally done this for 10 hours in a row.
So you fall in to Fallout? :p

But yeah, I have done a few all nighters on Nazi Zombies on the weekends.
