Playing Infamous 2 before Infamous 1

If I played Infamous 2 before Infamous 1 would I ruin any major plot points, and would playing Infamous 2 beforehand make it harder to play Infamous 1 due to enhanced game play mechanics, or are their game play mechanics similar enough that it won't matter which I play first.
