Weird that the US Killzone 3 Single Player Demo is currently available for Playstation Plus users only but if you mosey on over to the Hong Kong / China playstation store it is freely available for all to downloaad

Just a though Sony if your going to charge for a premium service ie: Playstation Plus, you need
to at least offer something of value in exchange for said service;some form of exclusivity would be a good start

Sound off if you think Plus is a Good idea or just a Desperate grab at some loose Dollars to
oil the Behemoth Sony

I've never brought it because I cannot justify the price, I have a few friends who have it and there doesn't seem to be anything out of this world amazing on it. Ive noticed you can buy some games a few ££ cheaper, but not enough to actually buy Plus.

There are several offers that I find casually interesting. If I had more free time to spend on gaming these months, I'd probably upgrade. However, I would definitely NOT upgrade if Sony got too pushy with it, like if they had uber huge offers on must-buy titles through it or if they attempted to limit your access to essential features. The reason I put up with shitty versions of most multiplatform titles on the PS3 is because its online service is awesome and free, and I like that, it shows a commitment from Sony. I think they've managed to keep Plus interesting in the correct, non-forcing way so far and hope they don't cross the line in the future.

I think its a bit of a con, Apparantly if your sub runs out, you no longer get to use the free shit you got.

Also, no party chat?

Ffs PSN sort it out.

I haven't seen any offers that peak my interest in the service.

Also, if you ever terminate your subscription, all of your Plus purchases vanish as well. So in that regard it feels more like a rental service.

I got it because I got free access to the DCUO beta. Of course once I downloaded the beta it wouldn't play so now I just check the PSN shop every month to see what free games I can get.

For now, it doesn't seem that PS Plus users are getting anything extra, but just wait. If Sony is taking their cues from Microsoft (and why wouldn't they?), they'll slowly start moving features from the free service to the plus service.

I bought it because I decided I can't really deride it unless I try it out. And since I didn't pay anything for all the Sony online I've been using for the last five years or so, and Microsoft has gotten $100 a year from me for the last 3 years - I have 2 accounts so I can play multiplayer games with friends in the house simultaneously with others online, talk about a rip off - I figure it wasn't a big deal to try it out.

So far, I can't say I've really seen anything truly my while. It's nice to have a full playable demo for anything I want to try, and oddly, they let you get trophies from the demos, something XBL does not. I guess if you are a trophy hunter, this would be important to you.

The discounts are okay, but I have to see if they add up over the whole year. I'm keeping track to see what the final price of Plus will be after a year of discounts. I suspect it will still be in the range of $20 or so.

So I guess at this point, the biggest thing would be the Demos. Core is interesting if you want scoops on upcoming games, and beta keys to things. But I think I'll still wait to determine the value of Plus until the end of the year.

You don't lose anything you actually pay for, like discounted games. You only lose the free stuff. This, quite frankly, isn't all that big a deal. I downloaded Spyro 2 just for the hell of it. I am not really going to care all that much when it disappears next year if I don't keep my subscription.

Just remember, you still have to pay money for the subscription to get that "free" stuff, and that's assuming you haven't already bought what's on offer. I don't want to say outright that PS Plus is a bad thing because, as you said, I can't deride it until I try it. But I have yet to see anything on offer that feels like I can justify paying a subscription for. On top of that, I'm in Australia, part of the EU PSN, and our store was pretty worthless to begin with anyway.

Yeah, I agree, it ain't "Free" in that sense. I actually didn't pay for it for the "freebies." I just downloaded a few of those this week for the first time, to check them out. I suspect they won't be much of a draw for me.

I mostly got it to see if the discounts would add up to the price of the subscription - which would mean I could get the demos for free, in a sense, if you get my meaning.

We shall see. Like I said, I probably won't decide for sure until the end of the year. And they still have time to do something for Plus members that is more worthwhile I suppose.
