Well like I said, the game show's a lot of potential, but it needs a bit of refining.cridia said:I am sorry, I should have been clear about that in the first place.BolognaBaloney said:It's a bit confusing, the sound is absent, and experiences frequent crashes.
Might I ask, what is the goal of the game?
I have updated the opening post with the goal of the game, and the means to control it. Since we have not had time to implement something like a tutorial, I should have explained this in the first place...
I am sorry, I was indeed too late with writing down the controls and the goal for the game. Should have done that from the beginning.Banter said:Point 1. Not a virus.
Ok, a few things I'd like to say. Mainly I had no idea what I was doing or why.
The control idea could be good for immersion if used correctly, I think that's what you're going for. It reminded me vaguely of Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in USA). However it there are a few things holding it back.
The mouse pointer colour is often too difficult to see is major, and I don't understand what's going on.
What I understood is that I would hold the mouse button with the cursor over an action that has a speech bubble next to it that corresponds to one of the bubbles on the right hand side, and I have to get one of them to the bottom of the screen. But why?
Basically telling people what things mean, I read your questionnaire but I don't like it as you seem to know and accept that people have no idea what they're doing, but that's not a good thing. I'm going on the assumption that you're aiming for immersion, and nothing is immersive when you come across the question 'what am I doing?'
People need to know their goal, who/what they are and what they're doing, as well as why. But not just told 'this is what you're doing' etc, they have to feel involved.
Also the program is unstable, it crashed after a few minutes every time I opened it.
I feel like there's something golden lurking inside your mind's eye, but we can't see it and need more of an explanation before we can actually supply any useful help.
EDIT: while I was writing this you added a few things, so not all of this post is relevant any more.
I don't like the fact that you have to press the option you're trying to make (microphone for example) several times. It felt a bit too sluggish.
If you perhaps made it you only press once or the option and the conversation goes faster, like an actual conversation.
This is my opinion though, take it as you wish or discard it.
Both of you it is no profit, and is for a project, how can it be advertising.DrunkWithPower said:Agreed....Daveman said:erm, I'm not sure if this is advertising and therefore in need of reporting... I'm interested but not sure if I trust you...
Perhaps asking for playtesters should be an acceptable form of advertising on a gaming-related site? It might make sense, but that's up to the mods really.Daveman said:erm, I'm not sure if this is advertising and therefore in need of reporting... I'm interested but not sure if I trust you...
What do you mean by the link is broken? I tested it and it still works. Maybe the school server went down for a couple of minutes; that tends to happen more than once.Revelo said:Since this seems to be blatant advertising and considering that I clicked on this link and it appears to be utterly broken. I am just going to click report and move on, sorry. =( Judging by the fact that you missed one tons of details in your original post and then corrected it, perhaps you should make a more complete version of this game before you start alpha or beta testing it. It sounds like you have missed out tons of details, the goal is to make people want to play it more.
Also, if what I am reading above is right, why have you taken too long to implement some of this stuff which would make this bearable? You said lack of time but why haven't you made the time?
