Pleasant Surprises

So Denizens of the Escapist, there I was, logging onto Steam, when suddenly the offers window pops up, and lo and behold, Mount and Blade: Fire and Steel is out in four days, and only costs £9 on offer. Considering I thought the game was out next month and I expected it to cost the best part of 20 pounds, this was a rather pleasant surprise for me!

So, What pleasant surprises has the rest of the Escapist experienced recently?

I was playing Pokemon, and the Kyurem I caught was shiny.
Too bad the shiny version looks ridiculously similar to the normal one in color scheme.

The soundtrack of Charles Barkley's Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden: Chapter One Of The Hoopz Barkley SaGa being just as good as I remember it.

I seriously recommend the game, or just listening to the songs, since they're awesome on their own.

Digital Upscaling. When I bought my PS3 I expected blu ray to look awesome (and they do) but what I wasn't prepared for was digital upscaling. I remember putting Batman Begins (DVD) on and being blown away by how good it looked and as I wasn't expecting it I was all the more pleasently suprised. Not recent really but a very pleasent suprise.
