So I've recently filed my income tax and while my return still hasn't been sent to me yet (and probably won't be until later next month, if not sometime in March) I still couldn't help but make a mental list of things I want to spend money on. One such thing is snack food that the US won't usually sell me.

Now I've bought snacks from online sources before but I'm kind of limited in that I'm only really familiar with services like JBox and a couple of other places for Japanese and Asian snacks. The problem is, I've been watching a lot of TB reviews and podcasts and it's really got me wanting to try things like Boost Bars, Irn Bru, Monster Munch and, Jaffa Cakes.

So these are my questions:

1 - Where is the best place for me to find European/British/Australian snacks?

2 - What do my international Escapists recommend?

I've checked out Amazon and of course they have some of these snacks but something about paying $10 for a variety pack of Monster Munch or, $33 for a 12-pack of Irn Bru just makes my wallet want to cry out in agony.

I personally really prefer chips (or would it be crisps) over cakes. That being said though, I also really enjoy chocolates and caramels...as for drinks though, I'm open to most any soda. What most interests me are Boost Bars and any other kind of chocolate bar or, candy bar + caffeine.

Make sure to try kokosbollar if you're ever at IKEA. A Swedish delicacy.

Slightly fun [and inappropriate) fact: Back in the days they were literally called negro balls or negro kiss in Denmark.

OT:You should really try waffles as made in Norway. They're not as thick or sweet as the Belgian type and you can easily find a recipe.
EDIT: Remembered incorrectly.

Uhm, don't you mean negro? Or were you just looking for an excuse to use the n-word to shock some foreigners?

Negro/neger = an in many countries outdated but neutral word used to describe black people
N-word = racial slur

Edit: stroopwafels [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroopwafel] are nice.

Thanks for that, as you said it was negro. I double checked and it seems I remembered it incorrectly.
EDIT: Actually it still works as neger is as of now a racial slur. Unlike the USA, in Denmark and Norway neger pretty much just went from a neutral word to become a racial slur. There's no ''new'' word that is equivalent to the N-word around here.

You need to try Salmiakki!!
If you can get your hands on this, go for it! :D

Sisu (yes the first and third letters are "S") :p

Just a "normal" old school salmiakki box

Pantteri, you can get bags of these with "flavoured" candy mixed in there also (red/blue/yellow coloured)

You know... those are kinda small and don't cost much... if you really want a taste I bet I can just put it in an envelope and post it to you if you're willing to give your address to a complete stranger on the internet :p

Then it's just to hope customs don't confiscate it :/

You know what's an awesome snack?

There. Spend your money on that kinda stuff instead.

Last time I checked, our Dutch word "neger" was basically "******" and not "negro" and with just as much racial weight behind as it "******" has in Anglo-American nations.

This person wins the thread right here!
Add some apples, bananas, pears, clementines and you're all set :D

Although with a sweet-tooth like mine, I have to get a little something sometimes :p

We had our own "niggerkisses" until they decided to change the name. Which, by the didn't have anything to do with people complaining about it.

Also try out Dutch Liquorice especially the Dubbel Zout variant.
