I don't know why it isn't working but there is no sound coming out of my speakers at all, nothing is muted and everything in the Sound and Hardware window says they are working but there is just no sound coming out of my speakers. What's wrong and how do I fix this? I have Windows Vista Home Premium.

EDIT: I just did this "Fix It program" thing that I guess is suppose to fix the problem or at least tell me what the problem is and it says my speakers are working just fine.

Have you used the Sound Troubleshooter in help and support center? If that doesn't fix it then there's probably a broken wire or something.

Right, first of all, did you try turning it off and on again? Yeah, try restarting the PC, might not work but I've felt stupid so many times when after an hour or more of troubleshooting, that turns out to be the solution.

If that doesn't help, anything you did between when the sound was working and when it stopped?

I did try restarting it, that didn't work, I don't know exactly when it stopped working but I believe last time I was on the computer when the sound was working I was using a gaming headset.

How do I find the help and support center?

Go to the start menu and there should be a list down the right hand side that says Document, pictures etc. Help and support should be at the bottom of the list. When you're at Help and support menu type sound into the search bar it should return a list and there should be a result that says sound troubleshooter.
