Yes.

Genocide will continue to linger on, in one form or another, as long as prejudice, bigotry, and hatred amongst people continues to exist in the world.

20 years? Yes. Absolutely. People have been trying to wipe other people out of existence since forever. It may perhaps change when there is a world government, which I can assure you is far more than 20 years away.

Yes - because genocide still happens today, and I don't see us coming up with a universal solution in 20 years.

Yes, because genocide is the ultimate end to dehumanization of one people group by another. To exist is conflict, and if we have no great conflict to overcome our minds will fantasize an evil to be stamped out with violence, no matter how terrible. Because in the minds of the oppressor the evil they are committing is needed to stop a greater evil and danger. As long as humanity formulates evil from the fantastic there will be the slaughter of nations and peoples.

Yes,

As we speak, a race/nation/family is being wiped out for no reason other than oil/power/wealth/religion

Yes.

Because I paid a lot for this doom laser and I need to prove that it wasn't a waste of money.

yes (unfortunately)

because even if, by some miracle, the human race completely unites and stops being such a homocidal bunch of *****, there will always be good ole insanity to make up for it

Yes.

Because it has been happening for so long and I don't see any solutions, certainly not in that short a timescale.

If you find yourself in central London, you might be interested in the Crimes Against Humanity exhibition at the Imperial War Museum; http://london.iwm.org.uk/server/show/ConWebDoc.1425 Since the primary focus of the exhibition is a film, you might even be able to gain access to a copy of the film from where you are. (I don't think you can buy a DVD from their online shop)

Yes. And you better hope to god it picks up, because this little blue planet is getting more crowded by the second.

If anything, in 20 years time, I'm going to guess that some government out there is gonna start converting people into fuel or soft drinks to keep ourselves from consuming this planet before we can find another one to start eating. After all, humans reproduce like a virus, and a virus needs more than one host to stay alive. So keep people to a minimum until we can get some more planets.

-No

I think it'll still be going on (Haha, screw your spreadsheet) for as long as there's enough people on the planet for someone to murder. People really hate each other.

Also, if you're doing this for school or whatever then you could at least have the courtesy to use correct grammar and punctuation.

Ofcourse they will, people will scapegoat one or more racial, religious, ethnic or national groups of people for all their problems and they will seek to destroy them.

As much of a System Shock fanboy as I am, I gotta say, you've been playing it FAR too much.

"Mistrust is the tyranny of the individual. Your own kind sees you as a threat! Why do you murder our unity? No matter, the line is drawn. You will cease to be. It is just a question of who will bring your end. Us, or you."

Anyway... back on topic...

You know what? I'm gonna go against the crowd here and say NO.

NO: Because more and more of the world's problems are being solved by political, technological and general humanitarian means.

Yes, there are still major, major problems, but anybody who lived through the Irish conflict and couldn't see an end to that, or in divided Berlin and couldn't see an end to that either, would testify that these things do clear up (and are not always replaced by more problems somewhere else!)

Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

Merry Christmas.
