Dude, I've lived in London all 17 years of my life and not once have I come even close to getting stabbed. Its pathetic how people think London is a bad area because of a few minor incidents. Its areas like Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow you want to avoid. In Glasgow your 7 times more likely to get stabbed than ANYWHERE else in the UK.

It isn't that I'm scared of underagers coming along and cramping us oldies' style. The only thing is that if London's anything like Edinburgh when it comes to IDing people there'll be very few places where under-eighteens can get in (again, local knowledge required on that matter) which means that if you're not eighteen then its possible you might have a fairly rubbish night out having spent all the money getting there.

I'm happy to have under-eighteens there, I'm just not convinced they'd have a good time. But anyway, it depends really on what sort of venue we go for, so I guess it'll be something to decide once we know where the meet-up's happening.

Thats a fair point, cause in Glasgow it's fairly easy to get into clubs and pubs underage, however it might be different in London.

Been reading the other thread on this subject [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.108238#1819362] and realised it doesn't have to be a pub. We could go bowling or paintballing (or both) or something along those lines. That we we have something that the underagers can do, and then in the evening the over-eighteens can go and find a pub.

Are there any paintballing or laserquest/zap zone arenas in or around London?

Just did a google search and there are quite a few paintballing around London, plus it gives me a reason to shout BOOM HEADSHOT

Well there was an official escapist meet up over in New York, about a year ago, there have also been two unofficial meet ups in Sydney, Australia.
So the idea is to have one for all the English (and Irish in my case) escapist members.
No plans yet as to what we'd do, we have to sort out the when and where first.
