Why'd you click it?

We've all seen these lying about forums. The thread with no title, only an ameturish cry for attention. Thankfully you don't get them around the Escapist, as few who are uninitiated in't'internet make it here.

But you usually find them on forums that the general, moronic public can reach or find easily. Like gaming forums for casual-ish games like the Sims 3, where someone who has no idea how a thread works simply leaves "READ PLZ" and has some stupid comment or thickie question left behind for those few sentries of knowledge (like moi on the Sims 3 forum) to answer with grim dilegence

What makes you click on them, though? even when you just KNOW there's a retard banging a drum on the other end for attention. Is it the mystery of an untitled thread? Or the satisfaction in "burning a noob"?

probably the mystery, but I really don't know.

Maybe a subconscious desire to punch said attention seeking douchebag in the face?

If it's stupid, least I can do is click on the thread and report it, or link it to a mod.
Why I click on anything suspicious.

Frick. You tricked me.
I just like comparing my intelligence to the predictable idiot on the other side of the internet.

There was a one in the exclamation marks. I figured it was some thread about not clicking threads.

It's pretty annoying sometimes, but sometimes it's just for views because with more and more members it's harder to get noticed.

Overly emotional teenagers who claim they're 'depressed' annoy me no end. Get over yourselves and stop hating humanity.

Because clicking things is fun!

And like Fniff, it's a kind of job.

Here's a clever 'un! I'd rep you if this forum had any kind of "approval" rating

I was so tempted to give you a bunch of messed-up links, but that'd be childish and obvious

NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPAN-Oh bugger...

On topic - I just click them because either they'll be somewhat interesting, like this was, or because it's a troll thread which I can subsequently report. And laugh at.

Why do I click it? Because curiosity is a natural thing for a human to express. Also with that in mind, I do have my curiosity under control so if I see a link in a stupid thread that seems risky then I won't click it.

I am far to curious for my own good. even when i know what the thread is going to be about i click anyway out of morbid facination/curiousity. sometimes, like now in fact i am pleasently surprised that is not what i thought it was going to be.

I love to read these threads. They offer something different for me. Something more base than what i'm used to, I suppose.

That and other people's problems excite me.
