Truly he was a rare breed amongst game industry CEO's these days...quite possibly one of a kind. You know, someone with the insane, radical, otherwordly idea that games should be fun, and not just drains on your wallet.

I may not be a Nintendo pesa- *Ahem* fan, I feel like this is a real loss. He's made mistakes and wasn't some messiah like people like to call Gabe Newell, but he cared about the customers and the company. He wasn't out to make a quick buck or screw someone over for quick gain.

He was human, but one helluva man.

I had already forgotten the Iwata's conference gift jet packs and milkshakes. Now I understand...

Dear Iwata san. I hope there will be all-can-drink strawberry milkshake in your next destination. And I hope you're not allergic.
Have a restful sleep.

I know this is beside the point, what is it with the two downward thrust? Kinda looks... inefficient.

You know what's sad? He wanted to develop another game, and get back to his programming roots, but was holding off to run the company. Like I've stated before, I never met Iwata, but I know that the world is poorer for his passing.

He could have made a next-gen Balloon Fight... with jet packs and milkshakes...

Yes, Iwata... I did understand and now others will, too...

At least I know heaven will be the awesomest place ever now that Iwata resides over there :)

This comic gave me a case of the "Awwwwwwwwww"s. If he doesn't get jetpacks and milkshakes in heaven, then let's build him our own afterlife. With milkshakes, and jetpacks!
In fact, forget the afterlife!

That was nicely done, guys.

I guess there was one milkshake and jetpack left for him to make his journey.

Fuck... I made myself sad.

You know you done good in life when the worst you can say about a guy is 'yeah ... he wasn't the best businessman' and your passing effect your entire industry for non business reasons.

The fact we might not see another CEO like him, saddens me as much as his passing did. :/

Rest well Iwata, you will be missed

His death hasn't affected me as deeply as that of Terry Pratchet but still, there is a profound sense of loss in the passing of this man, he has been an exemplar of how to conduct oneself and how to treat your consumers and for that he should be lauded.

Goodbye Iwata, this industry will be lesser for your passing.
