There is one of these threads in Gaming Discussion, I'm well aware. None the less I feel the need to promote it again.

It's the last day of the Webbys. No doubt all of you have received those delightful little PMs to encourage you to vote for The Escapist. We need more than this, though. Harass your friends, your siblings, anyone and everyone so that this site which we all enjoy can get the Best Games-related website award twice running.

Just get people to visit this site [http://pv.webbyawards.com/], sign up and vote.

Yes, Gamespot sent out an email this morning encouraging votes...
Yeah, they're awarding Emblems for those who vote for them. The achievement whores all responded.

I voted escapist.

Who really wants Gamespot to win? How in the hell did they get so many votes this morning anyway? Please people, vote for The Escapist. You all want those lovely new badges and bragging rights, don't you?

I already voted Escapist, and my annoying sense of nobility is refusing to let me vote again under a fake account, especially after getting annoyed at all the March Mayhem cloners that did the same thing. Maybe I should try beating it with a stick...

...

...Nope, didn't work. Oh well, I'll make do with my totally unfounded but probably accurate assumption that Gamespot are cheating worse than the Turbine/Bioware fanboys! :p
You're probably right given all the comments they've been posting about us. But if you want to cheat then go ahead, it helps us out if you do. All's fair in love and war, and this is a war against Gamespot for love for The Escapist after all ;)

EDIT: Sorry for the double post...

Of course the Escapist is doing the same thing for badge whores...

Anyway, although I'm not a big fan of the "badge for everyone if we win!" thing, I voted for the Escapist ages ago, because I can't not vote for the website I spend hours on every day.

My sentiments exactly.
I agree as well.

OR!

Maybe we could just let the votes decide without attempting to fix it or get people to vote for it when they really don't care either way. Competition is good, even if we lose.

It just seems to smack of integrity, doesn't it?

Hugs n' cuddles,

Vote sniping is my guess. People have a tendency to let their opponents get the upper hand and a false sense of security, right up until the final moments.

But they've done it too early, and we still have a chance! Come on, people! Show the tubes what the Escapists are made of!

20% Spelling
20% Grammar
20% Intelligence
20% DETERMINATION
10% lulz
10% That chocolatey goodness we all know and love.

On another note, 800+ votes is going to be hard to top, considering how many of us have voted already.

I'm so bookmarking these threads for when people complain next March about other companies advertising a contest on this site.
I am aware of the hypocrisy!
