I am not personally a big fan of poetry and thinks it has little relevance in the literary regard. This is merely a personal opinion of one who has had to proof read way too much bad poetry for other people though. I may be a little bitter on the subject.
I think poetry is a very hard medium to write in and I do appreciate and like good poetry when I read or hear it. Unfortunately that is extremely rare.
