The Broken Sword series is great pint and click action. I'm not sure how many are < 10 years old, but they are still fun.

You are going to find it very hard to get a good point and click that is less than 10 years old. and i personally can't think of any horror ones but they do exist.
As for my favorites you should look at Grim Fandango and The Longest Journey both excellent games that stand up to the test of time

I've heard great things about Clocktower.

Also, I played a great game called "Shadow of Destiny" for the PS2 when I was younger. It was basically a point and click without the pointing and clicking. Same principals, though. Well, I thought it was great. I was probably just looking at it through Nostalgiavision, bu still.

Also there's a game called "The Path" available on Steam. Very creepy game. Again, not a point and click, but still good.

Look up "Alice is Dead" on Newgrounds. Its an Alice in Wonderland thing that's dark, creepy and funny. The second one is more creepy, though.

Also, check out "Crimson Room" and its sequel, "Viridian Room". Again, the second one is creepier.

Lastly, "Vorago" (also on Newgrounds). My personal favorite out of the ones I posted. Definitely worth a look if you like Stephen King or find biblical horror stories interesting.

Clockto- Dammit Stranger 517!

Yeah, Clocktower is brilliant. Scary as all.

It's old. Ancient, actually. But Zork Nemesis, only for PC, is rather creepy in its own right. It wasn't that way intentionally. It was, what, the whole 'dragging a corpse in an attempt to reanimate the head so you could learn some clue' thing...

In a similar note, 7th Guest and 11th Hour are old, also only for PC, and are about hanging around in a haunted house point&clicking puzzles away in creepy scenarios to thwart a talking skull with eyes.

Phantasmagoria is decent, though it is 15 years old.

I actually found Myst to be quite eerie.

But I can't think of any newer than those.
