Pointless devices

So today I saw something incredibly stupid, the electric stapler.

If you're somehow incapable of using a normal stapler, the electric stapler can help you. It automatically puts a staple through any paper you put into it.

Why you need this instead of a normal stapler is beyond me. Seems like a huge waste. Also it's incredibly weak. It can't put staples through some larger stacks of papers. Stacks of papers you would be able to get a staple through if you used a normal stapler.

So this led to me creating this thread. What's the most pointless device you have ever seen or used?

The Earthbound dog tag. I guess some people really do believe they will be abducted, and a little picture on a dog tag (given that aliens didn't take it to sell for space weed) will be able to let you navigate back to Earth. If you are that dense, please, stay in space.

I agree with the Zune. I tend to find Microsoft applications and devices don't mix well with multimedia.
