Whatever, just wash your hands.
I dont know why they just dont let you customize your player char, I mean its not like you have allot of cinematics or anything and even if they did, it worked really well in the penny arcade game

Hands up for a proper character creation for the pokemon games instead of picking pre-sets.
Please.

At least let me pick a different outfit, the male characters (well the female ones too but I never use them) always dress like crap. I want my character to wear something pretty for a change...

well
A)The trainers are older like 16/17
B)I don't know about you but when I was in high school I have seen worse outfits (what kind o girl things she can get away with a teddy and bra for a top).
C)As long as you aren't going to "fan" sites with "fan" drawings you should be fine (also why does the 10 year old female in RSE wear biker shorts).

Eh, her shorts are longer than the skirt of the girl in the previous generation...and she's actually older than her.

I'd call that an improvement.
I agree with this person

That and the anime makers said they made dawn like that to get the young boys interested in the show...>_>

They both look weird to me. Hell I'm still trying to figure out how May (Pokemon Ruby Girl) managed to get her hair that way.

Because it takes up a lot of memory to store all the info on all the Pokemon and all the other random crap you have in the game. Also, you'd really only see the back of the outfit, which makes it a waste of a feature. Pokemon Colosseum had a customization option, but the game has a lot more memory to work with.

A good compromise could be different outfits for different seasons, perhaps with the ability to unlock the option to change outfits.

Really people really?.

If you think what she's wearing is slutty then you people are either biblethumping mormons or just have a low regard of what a woman is and is not allowed to wear in order to be condemned a "slut". I've seen loads of girls of all ages wearing these kind of clothes, mostly in summer mind you but regardless wearing them.

And you know what? I just thought they were wearing clothes. God forbid a woman wants to wear shorts that are high up on the thigh though clearly by doing so it makes them a lesser person and must be jumping into bed with everyone...

Get your minds out of the gutter, ta.

nah it wouldnt really take much memory, I mean we arnt talking about bump mapped models that are going to be seen really close up, we are talking about mostly static parts where the animation is closer to flash then anything else, having like lets say 30 options for things to change would probaly no no more memory then an additional 20 or so pokemon if even that much

Are you thinking of something like Phantasy Satr Online, where you can pick outfits, or one closer to Pokemon Colosseum, where you got individual pieces of clothing? Either way, there'd have to be quite a few things that change in the game, from the trainer card to the Xtranceiver images and battle animation. It's not going to take up a lot of memory, but the Pokemon games don't have much to spare. It would also take development time, which is not really worth it when the only part of the outfit you're going to see is the back.

Overall, it's a feature that would take up resources and not really provide much benefit. Even if Gamefreak had enough time to implement a costume change feature, they'd probably choose to put the effort into tweaking the game.

for the most part the games arnt really animated, they are static images that are just stretched and moved, like a flash animation, it wouldnt be hard to give players the options to customize their chars and if they didnt want to put in the effort for different outfits then color swaps would be a cinch

I think the issue most people have an issue with the outfit style, not the lack of options, so color options won't help the situation for the people who object to the way the outfit looks.

Honestly, aside from the pants, I don't really see anything wrong with the new female. She's not FANTASTIC by any stretch, but nothing horrible.

But, yeah, the pokemon series has been long overdue for some trainer customization. There just isn't any truly vaild reason for it anymore.

actually a lot of girls clothing is made with sexuality in mind, regardless if they're old enough to comprehend it.

I just had japanese exchange students at my school and suddenly the female character from black/white doesn't seem quite as ridiculous as she first did. I still agree with your point though. It is way too short, especially if they are trying to make the characters seem american.

would help if you didnt want to be white or wanted a different color scheme, really its an easy way to do some customization that adds almost no memory requirements

Have you played Phantasy Star Online? That's pretty much what you get in terms of character customization. (On a side note, cycling through the skin colors looks like you just got a Starman) It would be great to have something like that, although I know people would complain about the black characters not actually being black, or whatever.
