Now since Pokemon are the only animal species in Pokemon World, I've been wondering, everyone couldn't be vegetarians! So there miht be some people who indulge in some fresh Pokemon meat! :D So I want to hear what you think would be the most delicious or interesting Pokemon to eat!

I remember seeing someone serving up a Magikarp thats been fillet'd. And Slowpoketail.

Pretty sure they do eat pokemon, but they probably don't show it much(if at all), since it would probably be traumatizing to the completely innocent little children who would not be able to deal with the fact that people eat animals.

Oh jeez, I remember the slowpoketail.. That was in the game wasn't it? That made me feel utterly sick when I saw that. Gave me a LOT of motivation to kick some ass.

Is that normal?

Well we know they eat fish...
Pokemon fish ;3
That would explain why when Magikarp evolves it gets super pissed, or at least one of the reason...

Squirtle Soup seems a natural choice. Pidgey et al are probably good spit roasted. Jigglypuff would taste like candyfloss/cotton candy if you're American.

Watch out for Caterpie in your lettuce, even if you are a veggie!

I seem to remember it being said in the show that Far'fetched was nearly extinct because it was considered to be delicious.

In considering the pokemon barbecue, I feel compelled to consider how human society developed in the pokemon world... Before the existence of modern weaponry, or the refinement of pokemon trainers, how did humans eat? Pokemon are obviously a bit too magically powerful to hunt with spears and rocks. Were humans vegetarian hunter-gatherers (in which case, where did they get calorie-rich foods? Seeds maybe?)... or perhaps the ones who developed pokemon training methods first turned to the cannibalism of other tribes until they developed methods for hunting pokemon with their pokemon...

If I had to say, Mamoswine in cavemen times and probably Far'fetched, Magikarp, and Squirtles in modern times.

Magikarp is inedible. It's stated in the anime and the games that Magikarp are literally nothing but very hard scales, and bones (and vital organs, of course, but ewww...). In the first season episode where Team Rocket and the main gang escape the sunken SS Anne, they debate eating James' Magikarp, bite into it, and James almost breaks most of his teeth. Then it evolves into Gyarados... ;)

Anyway, Farfetch'd are considered a delicacy in the Pokemon Universe, and indeed it's stated they taste like duck or something. Then again, the Pokemon carries a bunch of leeks with it everywhere, it's literally asking to be eaten. It may as well just sit on a plate surrounded by beansprouts, pancakes, and jars of hoisin sauce.

Aside from that, I wonder what Doduo eggs taste like? And Goldeen sushi. I say that, I've never even tried sushi... :p

Actually normal animals are hinted to exist in the Pokémon world (I can't remember which, but one Pokédex entry made a reference to an Indian elephant, and even in the anime you can see normal fish alongside the Pokémon ones in the cerulean gym).

That said Farfetch'd are known to have been eaten, and professor Oak once expressed desire to eat a Krabby.

I'd say the humans get their meat from the same mundane animals we do, but when in experimental moods nom on any Pokémon that are too much of a ***** to put up a good fight.

Didn't Professor Oak always want to eat Ash's krabby in the original cartoon? Tauros seems like a logical pokemon to eat since its pretty much just a cow with some extra tails.

"So, I hear you like mudkips."

(Man, I can't believe nobody said this. I don't even like Pokemon and I make this joke first? Hang your collective heads in shame.)
