Slateport City:
Hundreds had gathered at the bustling port city for the main event. A large podium had been set up outside the Contest Hall on a backdrop overlooking the ocean behind them.
"Hell-ooooo Slateport!" Cried the blue haired contest star to a roar of applause from the trainers.
"And welcome to the Triple-Champion Championship!" The groans of some spectators were drowned out by a louder applause as more and more trainers piled into the plaza at the news of the event starting.

Seated behind the Contest Star were the three Champions, their signature pokemon standing behind them.
"I would like to introduce the host, Steven Stone!" Steven stood from his seat and waved, before sitting again.
"But he's not our only guest" shouted Lisia cheerfully. "From the frosty lands to the north, Cynthia!" The Sinnoh champion smiled and nodded from her seat accordingly. "And from faraway Kalos, the superstar Diantha!!!"
Diantha stood and blew a kiss to someone in the crowd, attracting the loudest applause yet.

"Our guests have generously provided us with the following gifts. Cynthia, w-with the help of an anonymous professor, have supplied everyone with a Pokedex-- A comprehensive device that will tell you all you need to know about any pokemon you may encounter."
At that, Diantha took over, picking up a tablet "Thank you Lisia. Now these helpful devices are Holo Casters. Lysandre Labs has generously donated these on my behalf. It will allow for easy communication with friends across th-"
She continued as more and more trainers congregated.

------------

Glenn bolted frantically through the marketplace up towards the event. Posters draped the sides of poles and streetlamps across the city with the champions, and their pokemon silhouetted in the background.
Steven and his silver Metagross, Cynthia and her petrifying sand shark pokemon, and Diantha with her Gardevoir.
unbelievable. On the boat from Vermillion for days, I'm on solid ground for an hour, and get sidetracked?!
Glenn stuffed his pokeballs into his backpack, and carried his baby Goomy with both arms folded in a jogging match with others to get to the best view of the Champions.
However, the prospect was mute, as the Kalosian spoke clearly into a microphone that echoed her voice throughout the plaza.

"-e region. Simply pick up one as you leave here today, and already calibrated onto yours will be a several numbers for other Holo Casters pre-set for you. Your, how will I say?....de jure rivals for this competition..."

Sounds perfect...
Thought Glenn, excited at the prospect.

Name: Glenn Neviss

Age: 17

Place of Origin: Celadon City.

Appearance & Personality: Standing at 5 foot 9, a teenager with brown eyes and dark brown hair that he occasionally lets to grow uncut, as well as some noticeable bushy eyebrows. Rather limber, and has the odd scratch here and there.
Quite friendly, but is very committed to Pokemon Battling and switches into a very ruthless character when in the heat of battle.
Going against the grain, he does NOT wear a hat, and due to the weather has discarded his black jacket in favour of a red t-shirt, while wearing navy jeans and a smart wristwatch.

Backstory: Growing up in the large Kanto conurbation meant that Glenn saw less of the real jungle, and more of the concrete jungle he called home. His older sister was a trainer in the Celadon Gym, and his brother was already travelling the world before Glenn even had his first pokémon, which was a Bulbasaur gifted to him by his sister.
He then caught an Eevee, and won a Magnemite from a schoolmate who reaaallly wanted an Oddish, and after a few years, he plucked up the courage to challenge Erika, and through a mixture of dumb luck and a string of paralysis, he won.
Glenn then moved on to stomping the Cerulean Gym and Lieutenant Surge, before concluding that if he was to make a name for himself, he'd need to travel like his brother did.
As a parting gift he was given an egg by his family. On the boat, he was baffled to find it unleashing a blobby purple thing onto his lap.
All in all, it was a good little creature, Glenn just needed to smuggle a few dozen napkins of the ship with him though.
He's now in Slateport City with his motley team to see what this triforce of Champions have congregated over.

Achievements: Celadon, Vermillion and Cerulean Gym Badges.
Surviving the boat ride to Slateport City...

Aspiration: To get as many badges he can, and hopefully outshine his siblings.

Tasha smirked. Rivals huh? Good this is gonna be fun. She tapped her foot, wanting the Kalosian to get on with what this whole Champion Championship, she had been one of the many to groan at that, was all about. Still free tech was quiet a starter package. A pokedex, which most people only got if they had worked with a Professor at one point or another, and this Holo-thing from Kalos. They sounded like the Poketchs from Jhoto. But with more of a focus on the person to person interaction. Probably can't even get any good music stations on the damn thing. She mused as she scanned the crowd. They only one that stood out was a younger guy carrying a purple blob in his arms. That's....uhhhh.....A Pokemon out of Kalos I think? Gonna have to try and track him down later. His little buddy certainly looks cute.

Name: Tasha Holloway

Age: 22

Place of Origin: Olivine City.

Appearance: Tasha stands at 5'10" and appears fit with Tanned skin. She often has an easy smile, and her grey eyes always has a gleam to them, like she is always laughing. She wears simple jeans and a black tank top that bears her mid-drift. She tends to keep her short red hair tied back in a bandanna with a long thin braid hanging out of the right side.

Personality: Tasha is very laid back, not letting much of the worlds troubles or worries get to her. She often has a friendly smile and a wave for anyone willing to offer the same. But don't let the slacker attitude fool you, she has a fire in her belly. Once she has her eyes set on a goal, she will pursue it till the ends of the earth.

Backstory: Tasha was born in Olivine City to two trainers that worked in the local Gym. So for as long as she can remember and probably longer than that she's been around Pokemon. When she was old enough her parents were able to get her a Beldum. She loved her new Pokemon, that she had named Knight, and never went anywhere with out it. As the years went by in her coastal city she grew and so did her curiosity about the world. She left home at 21 feeling that Olivine City had offered all it could for her. Her first stop was in Mossdeep, where she visited relatives and caught a shy little Snorunt, before starting her journey proper.

For the next year she would Wander Hoenn, seeing all she could. She battled trainers and pokemon and even found a Aron that had caught her eye. Now with a little experience under her belt and three Champions gathered in Steelport Tasha is ready and eager for this new adventure.

Aspiration: One day Tasha plans on running her own Gym weather by taking over for the one in Olivine, or moving to a new region to start her own.

The sun shone bright in the sky above the beach of Slateport City. Amongst the usual crowd of trainers and their Pokemon, a girl sat in the shallows with a Pelipper perched on her head. A Roselia and Magikarp were splashing around in front of her, the Roselia happily chasing after the fish Pokemon as he swam around in a circle. A Corsola sat at the girl's side, dozing gently in the warm water.

"It is a great day to be by the sea." Sarah murmured, looking up towards the sun. The movement disturbed the Pelipper who fluttered up with a squawk and glared at her disapprovingly.

"Oh hush Pecker, it's your own fault for sitting there." she chided, splashing some water at the indignant Pokemon. At that moment, the sounds of cheers and applause rang out from the city.

"Okay guys, back in your Pokeballs! Looks like things are kicking off over there." Jumping up, Sarah ran out of the water to her belongings. Grabbing three red Pokeballs she recalled all her Pokemon except for Pecker, he perched on her shoulder as usual once she had dried herself and pulled her shirt back on.

"Pelipper!"

"Yes, yes I'm excited too." Sarah smiled, rubbing the back of Pecker's head. Picking up her rucksack she walked towards the city and the gathered crowd. Reaching its edge, she craned her neck to try and get a glimpse of the stage.

"OHMYGOSH, is that Steven?" she thought, fangirling just a little internally. She'd seen plenty of pictures of the Hoenn Champion, but this was the first time she'd seen him in the flesh. "And two other Region's Champions! Oh wow, this must be something special indeed!"

As the presentation continued Sarah listened as closely as she could, exceptionally excited for what was to come.

Name: Sarah Menzies

Age: 18

Place of Origin: Pacifidlog Town

Appearance:

Tall and lightly muscled, Sarah is heavily tanned from spending many hours out in the sun. Her long hair is tied in a loose ponytail down her back and matches the brown colour of her eyes. She favours the colour red in her clothing, with her current attire consisting of a red skirt and white t-shirt. Whenever she can she prefers to go barefoot, however she carries a pair of sneakers for longer trecks.

Personality:

Energetic and physically active Sarah enjoys the outdoors, particularly around water. Growing up on in an island town instilled a deep love for swimming and the ocean, as well as the water-type Pokemon that inhabit those environments.

She is a very friendly person, always ready with a smile. She loves playing with Pokemon, both her own and those of the trainers she meets. She sees most wild Pokemon as potential new friends, she always keeps a stash of Pokeballs on her in case she runs into one. The only exceptions are poison types, since she finds those gross, and ghost types which terrify her.

Battling is something she enjoys mostly because it's a chance to see Pokemon in their full glory. Winning gym badges and challenging the league are not something high on her radar. She still goes all out for the win, not wanting to disgrace herself or her Pokemon.

Backstory:

Born and raised in Pacifidlog Town Sarah is the middle child of her family, with an older and younger brother. Despite their mother's best efforts the three children all took after their father, loud and hyperactive. They spent most of their days in the surrounding ocean, competing to find the prettiest shells, exploring tiny islands and all manner of activities.

When each of the kids reached the age of twelve their father took them out to catch their first Pokemon. For Sarah it was a Wingull which she immediately named Pecker, much to the amusement of her parents. With Pecker at her side Sarah was able to venture further afield, occasionally even making trips to the mainland.

Now at the age of 18 and with more Pokemon to accompany her Sarah is ready for her first true journey away from home. Slateport City is to be the first stop on her journey.

Achievements:

Surviving her childhood without getting eaten by a Sharpedo

Aspirations:

Find and catch more Pokemon
Challenge and defeat as many Gym Leaders as possible

Gender: Female
Type: Water/Rock

Cyrus had a frontrow view of the podium. He came to the event as early as he could and had been standing around for a long while as a result. He didn't show any sign of fatigue though. While he waited for the champions to show, Cyrus had been doing a bit of apricorn carving. In one hand he held a blue apricorn that had turned from half to fully hollowed while he'd been waiting, in the other a carving knife.

Reza was curled up by his feet, shifting his head about as he examined the crowd. There were many curious figures, human and pokemon, among them. Cyrus seemed more intent on his carving, oblivious to everyone else around him. Once the champions finally arrived, he put away the carving knife and gaze was locked on them.

"Steven, Cynthia, Diantha..." he muttered. He knew about the former two well-enough, being a fan of Steven in particular, but wasn't too familiar with Diantha. All of them though were powerful trainers with almost unbeatable teams. He wondered which of them would make the best opponent.

When the Kalosian announcer mentioned the word 'rivals' a grin dawned on Cyrus' face. "Sounds like I'll have to deal with some lesser trainers before worrying about that, though." he said, gazing down at his hollowed apricorn.

Name: Cyrus Amethystein

Age: 20

Place of Origin: Johto, Goldenrod City

Appearance: A handsome, shorter than average boy with brown skin, green eyes and well-groomed black hair. He has a frail, slim build. He usually wears a fancy black suit with a blue undershirt and tie. He wear rings on both his index and middle fingers.

Personality: A hard-nosed, snobby youth with a strong sense of pride. He holds himself to high standards and is eager to prove his worth to anyone who would challenge him. He's very determined when he sets his mind to something, but often runs the risk of pushing himself or his Pokemon too far. He can easily get cocky and overestimate his own abilities.

Cyrus' attitude towards others is a mix between well-spoken and pretentious. He fancies himself a gentleman but tends to look down on most people. He respects those who can match him competitively but is more likely to view them as rivals than friends. He's very anxious about failure. He also has a great deal of interest in apricorn crafting.

Backstory: Born the child of an apricorn crafter and a business entrepreneur, Cyrus grew up very well-off. His family established a successful company in Goldenrod based around designing high-quality, speciality Pokeballs sold through Johto and the supermarts of other regions. Because of this Cyrus enjoyed a wealthy lifestyle, although he always appreciated the value of hard work as taught to him by his parents.

When he was around ten, Cyrus began suffering from severe insomnia. In response his parents got him a Meowth capable of using hypnosis, which would rest by his side at night and lull him into a pleasant sleep. This sparked an interest in Pokemon that would quickly evolve into a passion.

While growing up, Cyrus faced much disdain from others. Some of it came from his own smug attitude, although there were people who disliked him simply for being from a rich family. They would claim that he was a spoiled brat, who inherited everything from his family and had no worth of his own. Cyrus despised these claims and sought to prove them wrong. This combined with his growing affection for Pokemon would lead him to become a Pokemon trainer.

Cyrus settled that he would become a Champion one day. Anything less and there would still be people who could belittle or look down on him. He trained his Meowth, Reza, until he became a Persian and then set off to challenging gym leaders. After hearing news of the three Champions travelling to Slateport City for some sort of competition, Cyrus has decided that he's ready to face a challenge far greater than gym leaders. He seeks to meet the Champions, challenge them and, hopefully, beat them.

Achievements: Has gotten the Plain Badge, the Storm Badge and the Mineral Badge. Caught a Dragonair on his own.

Aspiration: Wants to become a Champion and show up those who doubt him. Also looking to become more skilled at apricorn crafting like his father.

Name: Reza (Persian)
Gender: Male
Type: Normal
Level: 28
Moveset: Dream Eater (TM), Hypnosis (egg), Play Rough, Fake Out
Ability: Technician
Character: Loyal and cunning. Cyrus has owned Reza since he was a Meowth and they share a strong bond. He's usually at his master's side rather than stuck inside a Pokeball. He has sharp wits and is very perceptive.

Name: Darius (Croconaw)
Gender: Male
Type: Water
Level: 22
Moveset: Surf (HM), Ice Beam (TM), Bite, Rage
Ability: Torrent
Character: Eager and rash. Cyrus caught Darius on Johto's route 40. Needing to reach Cianwood to get the Storm Badge, Cyrus decided to make things challenging by catching a Water-type Pokemon and then surfing across rather than paying for a ferry. Darius is enthusiastic about most things, particularily combat, to a headstrong degree. Far from the smartest of Cyrus' Pokemon. He's usually friendly with other Pokemon, although nervous around Electric-types.

Name: Iliya (Dragonair)
Gender: Female
Type: Dragon
Level: 30
Moveset: Thunderbolt (TM), Iron Tail (egg), Twister, Agility
Ability: Shed Skin
Character: Fierce, graceful and arrogant. Iliya exhibits the presence of power and majesty common to dragons. Cyrus caught her during a trip to the Kanto safari zone - a gruelling affair that costed half a day's time, far too much money and several buckets worth of safari balls. Although admired by Cyrus, Iliya views her master as little more than an uppity youth. She's fond of acting on her own and ignoring commands from Cyrus in battle.

"Hell-ooooo Slateport! And welcome to the Triple-Champion Championship!"

Jonah wasn't sure what to think when he got to the contest hall. There was a crowd there already, and because of that, he put the two smallest of his pokemon into their pokeballs. Trying to make Richard, the gallade, to do the same would be very difficult. He was about to turn around and go back to the pokemon center to wait for it to calm down, he noticed two people he recognized well. One, the contest star Lisia, who was speaking, and then one of the guests.

Is that Cynthia? What would she do this far from... well, wherever the champion of my region lives.

It was a bit odd to him, since she was the champion of his home-region, Sinnoh. Then again, it was called the "triple-champion championship". Despite having little interest in pokemon battles, he knew who she was. The other two, Steven and Diantha, were names he recognized, but never had seen.

They seem to be from this region and Kalos... Wait, I did just see them, on the posters!

Just how he had missed their meaning was beyond him. Which also explained why his Gallade had been this eager to go to the contest hall. He listened to the champions as they spoke, sort of interested. However, when they mentioned the rival system, he shook his head.

"Oh, it looks like this isn't for us, Rich," Jonah said, hoping to make the Gallade follow him away. Instead, the pokemon held onto his sleeve. It was really strong for something that size, and Jonah whined, knowing that once something caught Rich's attention, the other wouldn't let him walk away from it that easily.

"Okay" he said, defeated. "We'll stay until it ends, then leave. Besides, we've been training to make our introduction to the contest scene in Hoenn, wouldn't you rather do that?" he said, smiling again, trying to keep his spirits high. "Come on, we're going to be so good. All eyes will be on us!"

"..Gallade."

Jonah sighed, it would be easier to deal with this after the crowd was gone.

Name:

Jonah Icee

Age:

19

Place of Origin:

Sinnoh

Appearance:

A young man with slightly tanned skin, violet eyes and long blonde hair with a purple tint and a part of the fringe tied up by a violet ribbon. He wears a neat, purple and blue suit that fits just right, and looks a bit feminine. He's about 6 feet tall, and lean, and quite the looker, something he's aware of.

Personality:

Jonah is friendly and outgoing, but prone to worry and feeling blue if he's not accepted. He dislikes fighting, and can be seen as a bit of a push-over, though he treasures those he cares about, and would do just about anything for them. He has a habit of fussing over his pokemon, and takes an interest in berries and pokepuffs, as well as grooming and training, but more so for competitions than pokemon battles. When he's in a bad mood, he'll often avoid people, though if they ask him what's wrong, he's more likely to apologize and pull himself out of it than snap or act aggressively. He's got more money than he knows what to do with, and likes collecting rare items, which he has an eye for. He's emotionally very perceptive, though personal bias can make him rather blind. Jonah very rarely puts his pokemon in their pokeballs, and Gallade often outright refuses to due to its upbringing.

Backstory:

Jonah was born into wealth, and was quite pampered, yet lonely the first 3 years of his life, due to his parents being otherwise occupied, and having no siblings. However, one day he was given a Ralts, both for it to take care of him and him to take care of it. They soon become very close friends, acting almost like siblings. Due to this, he grew to become a friendly and open child, expressing himself witho often eccessive words and gestures.

As Jonah grew up, he took an interest in competitions, and trained towards them, taking care of both his and his pokemon's appearances, even fussing quite a lot, becoming worried if they didn't appear to be happy or if they got hurt. This resulted in that the Eevee he had been given when he was about 12 evolved into Sylveon after learning a fairy move. He's been travelling around for competitions for a couple of years now, however, he let himself get talked (pushed, more like) into going to Slateport by Gallade.

Achievements:

Jonah has won quite a lot of competitions, both home in Sinnoh and elsewhere. He has won battles, but no badges, and prefers to stay away from the sorts.

Aspiration:

He aims to be the most famous and beloved competition star in the world, though, he's happy each time he wins, be it a minor competition or a slightly bigger one.

#1

Name: Richard, though Jonah normally calls him Rich or Gallade (Gallade)

Gender: Male

Type: Psychic, Fighting

Level: 30

Moveset:

Night Slash

Leaf Blade

Teleport

Close Combat

Ability: Steadfast

Character: Stubborn and quite human-like, portraying concepts such as honor and pride. He loves fighting, something that Jonah won't let him do that often. That said, Gallade is also fiercly protective of Jonah, the two of them having been friends since Jonah was about 3, and Gallade was a Ralts.

#2

Name: Apollo (Swirlix)

Gender: Male

Type: Fairy

Level: 26

Moveset:

Flamethrower

Facade

Return

Belly Drum (through breeding)

Ability: Unburden

Character: A bit whimsical and selfish, but also very happy. Slightly vain, and enjoys being carried around. Jonah got him from a friend of his father's during his travels, and even though he's the newest addition to the team, this Swirlix is quite strong already (For a Swirlix). It loves berries, and is always carrying one.

#3

Name: Arthur (Sylveon)

Gender: Male

Type: Fairy

Level: 14

Moveset:

Dazzling Gleam

Disarming Voice

Hyper Beam
(though only because it's a really good contest move)

Helping Hand

Ability: Cute Charm

Character: A cowardly Pokemon, Arthur prefers not to fight and will try to hide if he's even in such a position. Very friendly, however, and close to Jonah, perhaps most of all because their personalities are similar.

Thomas looked at his Pokedex and Holo caster with confusion.

Which is it....

He had only shown up for the promise of free stuff and he was liking his free Holo Caster, but the idea of free stuff always worried him. Questions like why are they giving this away, what do I do to earn this, is there some contract I have to uphold and so on. But what confused him at the moment was the lack of information about this tournament. Was it going to be a normal tournament with a ladder system or was it some sort special version of the normal Pokémon League tournament the Pokémon League held.

I guess we just wait until the champs are finished with their speeches, ehh Jips?

Jips looked at him in agreement and then yawned. The huge Torterra had already used most of his energy for the day and was almost falling asleep. Thomas smiled at this and gave an apple to Jips and padded his head in the process.

We should probably find a resting place after this, you've already carried me enough for today.

Name: Thomas Lindberg
Age: 22
Place of Origin: Castelia City
Appearance: Thomas stands at 185 cm tall, with a skinny build. Has spiky brown hair and green eyes. He typically has a drowsy expression on his face, which is more due to boredom than actual sleepiness.
He wears a brown jacket, blue jeans and a woolie. His hair is long enough for it to be seen while he wears it.

Personality: Thomas is a bit of cynic, though not as much as he once were. Over the years he has grown tired, and the desire to find a place for himself has been steadily growing. Thanks to a certain incident in the past, he is wary of travelling with strangers and much prefers being by himself and his Pokemon.

Backstory: Hailing from Castelia City, Thomas had a tough childhood, his parents dying in a car crash when he was 11. Unable to accept their deaths, Thomas turned into a bitter individual, resenting the world for his lose despite his remarks on the contrary.

Thomas hanged around the wrong crowd and started to bully his own peers by threatening to use his Pangoro, Jojo against them. When Thomas was 17, JoJo got into an accident by saving his trainer from a car crash. This in turn lead Thomas away from the life of bullying and had a remarkable change on him. Thomas was however bullied for the next three years of his life, by his former friends. Thomas thought that he deserved it and it got him in a depressing mood for the last remainder of his teenage years.

Grandma Lindberg had got enough of his pitying attitude by the time he reached 20 and send him off on adventuring through Unova hoping that would improve his mood. Seeing the variety that was throughout Unova changed Thomas for the better and sparked an interest of exploring for him.

After he had finished exploring Unova, he decided to buy a ticket to Hoenn to see the beaches and the wildlife there. Grandma Lindberg decided to send her Torterra Jips with him with, just so that she could be sure that Thomas wouldn't get himself in troubles over in Hoenn.

Achivement: Explored Unova

Goal: Have fun in Hoenn.

Pokemon: Jips (Torterra)
-male
-Grass/Ground
-Too old for fighting so lvl is irrelevant
-Is a traveling companion
-is not officially own by Thomas
-Character: Thomas grandmother is Jips trainer and has been for the last 50 years. Jips also was Thomas first encounter with a Pokemon and has known Thomas for most of his life. Though Jips has gotten to age where he is unable to do battle, Thomas grandmother still asked Jips to keep Thomas safe on his journey. Jips has a rather gentle and patient personality, preferring to take a slower route when dealing with something. Jips also has a penchant to mainly eat fruits than anything else, particularly those of the sweeter kinds.

Pokemon: JoJo (Pangoro)
-Male
-Fighting/Dark
-lvl 32
-Moveset: Ice Punch, Circle Throw, Foul Play, Slash
-Ability: Iron Fist
-Character: Thomas was given JoJo by his parents as an egg before they died. JoJo used to be originally more childish in personality when he was a Pancham. He evolved into a Pangoro back when Thomas was hanging around wrong crowd. JoJo has a rather relaxed personality and shows almost no cases of any outburst of anger, even in battle. Despite the lack of berserk nature that is frequent in Pangoro's, JoJo shows no case of being weaker than any other Pangoro. It might be said that JoJo is more like a Slakoth then a Pangoro.

Pokemon: Mog (Skorupi)
-Male
-Poison/Bug
-lvl 23
-Moveset: Poison Fang, Bug Bite, Acupressure, Thief
-Ability: Battle Armor
-Character: Mog was captured back when Thomas was traveling through Unova. He was trying to steal food from Thomas as a payback against Thomas for ignoring his taunts to battle him. Despite his small size, Mog loves battling and gets angry rather quickly if things don't go his way.

Sean groaned as he stood at the back of the large crowd, on one hand holding his trenchcoat, on the other his hat, waving at his head.

Sheesh... Hoenn sure is hot!

It had been a few hours since he had arrived by ferry to Slateport, ready to begin his travels in the Hoenn region. His Kalos travels, rather than leave him homesick, had instead magnified his desire to see more of all the different regions he had yet to go to. As he spent his time looking around the city, he saw a large crowd gather at the Concert Hall. Curious, as he always were, he also attended the gathering.

As he was using his hat as a fan, he took a glance at his companions, Ragna especially. Whatever it was that was going to happen here, it was sure to be quite the sight to see, and he wouldn't want his friends to miss it inside their pokeballs for the sake of convenience. Sponni had climbed on a streetlight, surveying the people that had gathered. Sol stood beside Sean, excited and curious as to what they were about to see. Ragna was... well, being Ragna; looking around to start a fight. Though, luckily, Sean's warning that at the first sight of trouble he'd put him back in his pokeball seemed to pay off, and Ragna was at the very least putting visible effort into not shouting challenges at random folks.

"Welcome to the Triple-Champion Championship!"

The main event was beginning and Sean was already starting to lose interest. Yes, the fact that three Champions of different regions had gathered here was cool and exciting in a way, but a championship was a championship, and Sean wasn't exactly fond of pokemon battles to begin with. Though the prospect of picking up a new holo caster (Sean had already picked one up in his Kalos trip) and getting to meet new people to compete with was, quite frankly, a new and refreshing idea, it was one that was completely unappealing to one such as Sean, who looked to pass his travels as peacefully as possible.

"Welp, nothing to see here. Let's get going. We have an entire new region to explore!"

As he was about to turn back and leave though, Sol and Ragna glared at him with disatisfaction, with Sol's glare being more one of disappointment, while Ragna's was one of anger.

"You two can't be serious about joining this, right? Think of all the trouble and people we'll run into!"

They didn't budge.

"I... suppose it wouldn't hurt to at least see the rest of this presentation." he finally said after a moment, a hint of defeatism in his tone.

Name: Sean Gallagher

Age: 20

Place of Origin: Unova

Appearance: 185 cm tall, slightly tanned, very thin with shoulder-length dark brown hair and brown eyes. He also sports a goatee. Has a somewhat noticeable scar across his brow and bridge and wears a trilby hat (which he obliviously wears backwards)

On the upper body, he sports a black trenchcoat/vest/white shirt combo.

Contradictingly, he wears black cargo pants along with black/red sports shoes on the lower body.

Accessories include fingerless gloves, round orange-coloured sunglasses and a large dark blue/black backpack.

His facial expression is typically a dreamy one with a hint of a smile. Complementing that, his posture is relaxed and he has a tendency to put both hands behind the head while walking.

When excited or when he finds himself captivated by something, his facial expression sharpens, with a flare in his eyes and a grin in his face.

Personality: Easy-going to the point of being called lazy, Sean is a very curious individual, liking to take his time exploring the places he visits and taking notes about how the various kinds of pokemon live there, along with reading about them. As such, he is very knowledgeable about Pokemon in general. As he sees himself much more of a scholar than a fighter, he is generally reluctant to fight pokemon battles.

Generally friendly, Sean doesn't mind travelling with others, provided they aren't too high-maintenance. When irritated, he has a tendency to snark in a deadpan manner, but he isn't confrontational unless that person does something he's completely against (like pokemon cruelty.) Generally, though, he prefers the company of his pokemon, hence why he often travels alone.

Fiercely loyal to friends, he cares especially deeply about the pokemon he captures, treating them more as equals and companions, and when outside of cities he usually has them loose to wander around as they like, provided they don't stray too far from one another.

Sean loves cooking and is more than a competent cook.

Evident by the way he dresses, he is oblivious to fashion.

Backstory: The middle child of his family, Sean looked up to his parents and older brother. His mother owned a pokemon ranch, his brother was an accomplished pokemon trainer making a name for himself and his father was a researcher, who would often take young Sean along with him when conducting research.

When Sean was twelve, his father took him with him to Mistralton Cave, where he was conducting research on the behaviour of the pokemon there, especially the Axew line. While his father was engrossed with his research (as he'd usually be), Sean wandered off and found a pair of Axew. Upon seeing him, the bigger one lashed out at him, giving him the scar on his brow in the process. Ultimately, his father saved, capturing both Axew in the process -both for the safety of his son and the pokemon-.

Having the Axew in the ranch wasn't something that Sean was happy about. He was extremely unhappy about having the pokemon that scarred him living with them. Over the time, though, and with the subtle encouragement of his mother, Sean came to realise that, ultimately, the Axew was protecting its family.

With the acceptance of that fact, a bond between the two grew quickly and, on Sean's 14th birthday, they set out to explore the world.

Achievements: Has travelled through Unova and Kalos, documenting behaviours of various kinds of Pokemon. Has found a Jaw Fossil, which, with the help of the Ambrette Town Lab, has brought back to life.

Aspirations: To travel through-out all the world, learn as much about Pokemon as he can, find what he wants to do with his life and grow enough facial hair to be able to grow a full beard.

Pokemon:

Ability: Mold Breaker [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Mold_Breaker_%28Ability%29]

Character: While also generally easy-going, Sol is a lot more driven than his trainer, wanting to protect him and his companions. To do that, he seeks to become stronger. Even so, he enjoys battling (it helps him hone his skills, after all). He's rather playful by nature, and sees his spars with Ragna more as training rather than competition.

Name: Ragna (Tyrunt [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Tyrunt_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29])

Personality: Proud and boisterous, Ragna wants nothing more than to prove he's the best, which often brings him to conflict with Sol, who he sees as his biggest rival. He loves battling, and won't hesitate to start a fight if given cause (which, given his Hair-Trigger Temper, isn't hard to get).

Name: Sponni (Zigzagoon [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Zigzagoon_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29])

Gender: Male

Ability: Pickup [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pickup_%28Ability%29]

Personality: The latest addition to Sean's team, Sponni was caught while trying to sneakily steal food from Sean's backpack during the night and is used to fighting dirty. Ever since capture, Sponni has started idolizing Ragna thanks to the latter's boisterous nature, and has been trying to imitate him, with mixed results.

Ethan stretched his arms, giving a boorish yawn. He'd only just woken up after being shaken awake by the crew of the ship he'd chartered in Vermilion City, and so his head was still swimming. Slateport reminded him of Vermilion, in a lot of ways - the way the entire city seemed to revolve around its port, mostly - but the city seemed quite a bit quainter. Extensive beaches and sleepy market stalls dominated as opposed to towering skyscrapers.

Going through customs hadn't been any more fun than waking up - the jerks insisted he take off his labcoat because it constituted a 'security risk' or some such utter nonsense - but after getting his things back he quickly took himself to the task of documenting as many things of note as he could, sketching and note-taking with great fervor. This was his first time in the Hoenn region, and he wasn't going to miss out on this opportunity to advance his research! So many new Pokemon and people, so little time...

A loud bark jolted him from his internal thoughts and a set of firm black eyes met his own. Kelvin, his faithful canine companion, was nudging at his side - his usual signal for 'come on, Slowbro, we have places to be!' Ethan shook his head to try and gather his thoughts, before finally flashing a winning smile. "Oh, come on, Kelvin! I just woke up. Arceus knows I need the exercise."

Kelvin responds with a whine, dipping his head. Oh boy, he was giving him 'the look' again - that look of wounded indignation Kelvin gave him whenever he didn't get his way. Ethan sighs - it was very difficult to document things when riding Kelvin, but he quickly hops on the massive Arcanine's back. He was entirely too soft with all of his Pokemon, to tell the truth, but Kelvin in particular knew how to press his buttons and lay on the guilt. "Alright, alright! I guess we are running late."

With an excited bark, Kelvin bounds forward, moving with a speed and grace shocking for his immense size.

--------

After making several confused laps around Slateport before realizing he'd been reading the map he'd gotten at the customs office upside down, the duo finally made their way to the central plaza housing the Contest Hall. A large crowd had already gathered, and it looks like the Professor's information had been correct - three real, live Champions had gathered for this event! Scanning the gathered crowd, he brimmed with excitement - this was one of the most diverse gatherings of Pokemon he'd ever seen, and that was saying something as a Kanto native.

He half-listened to the speech the Champions were giving, too engrossed with potential notes to make. There was so much to do, and so little -

"Our guests have generously provided us with the following gifts. Cynthia, w-with the help of an anonymous professor, have supplied everyone with a Pokedex-- A comprehensive device that will tell you all you need to know about any pokemon you may encounter."

Ethan's breath catches in his throat. Did she just say they were handing out Pokedexes?

That cinched it. He didn't care what else he was expected to do - he was entering this tournament or whatever it was if it meant he got a Pokedex out of the deal!

Name: Ethan Blake

Age: 21

Place of Origin: Kanto, Celadon City

Appearance & Personality: A tall, fair-skinned boy(man? he isn't really sure yet) with short black hair an unremarkable physique. Bright blue eyes belie great enthusiasm and drive in everything he does. Wears jeans, sneakers, and the lab coat Professor Oak gave him as he started his fellowship with pride, along with a messenger bag to carry his things. A notebook or recording device can almost always be found in his hands, in case he needs to quickly document something important to his research.

Some people would call Ethan tiresome, distracting, perhaps even overbearing. Most others, though, would instead see the genuine, unrestrained passion he has for the world of Pokemon research and the genuine good will he treats others with - sometimes to the point of naivete.

Backstory: Born and raised in bustling Celadon City, it was always expected that Ethan would follow in his father's footsteps and become a trainer. When he turned ten, his parents, Marshal and Maria Blake, gave him the egg that would eventually hatch into his first Pokemon and closest friend - Kelvin. Ethan showed some aptitude for Pokemon training, and his father expected him to start his journey when he came of age.

Fate, however, had other plans - at least, that's what Ethan says. Shortly before his journey would have begun, he happened across the vaunted Professor Oak giving a public lecture about Pokemon and humanity's place with them in the world. The talk lit a fire somewhere deep in Ethan's soul, and ever since he's been consumed with a desire to know the true relationship between Pokemon and people. Shortly after the lecture, he headed to the local library and began an intense regimen of study, abandoning the start of his journey. Though his parents were baffled by this sudden change, they accepted his decision with some wariness.

After studying for several years, Ethan finally gathered the courage to send a letter to his idol, Professor Oak, asking for the opportunity to study under him. He still proudly carries the acceptance letter he got back in his coat pocket(for good luck, he says), calling it the greatest achievement of his short life.

His latest assignment on Oak's behest is to head to Slateport City - where an unprecedented three Champions gather. Where better to further his quest?

Achievements: A fellowship to study Pokemon under the great Professor Oak himself. Reportedly, Oak liked his enthusiasm. At Oak's behest, he also cut his teeth in the trainer game and obtained several badges from Kanto's gyms a few years ago - snatching up the Boulder and Cascade badges.

Aspiration: To unravel the great mystery that is the relationship between people and Pokemon, unifying it under one great Theory.

"De jure rivals"
Steven Stone gave the Kalosian a concerned look and then returned to the podium. "-Or allies." He interjected, before allowing her to continue.

Stalls nearby now opened up to hand out the items to the crowd.
Diantha continued through the loudspeakers. "The pokedexes aren't easily replaced, so don't drop them and get their screens cracked!" she warned humourously.
Glenn approached one of the stalls, and was handed the complementary pokedex and Holo Caster. The volunteer smiled and handed him each.
Walking away, he noticed the Holo Caster had a number assigned to it: 1.
On its numbers list, there were Numbers 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 26, and40. The blue device also had a small map of Hoenn in the corner of the interface, displaying 1 red dot, and seven blue dots all clustered around Slateport. Presumably the red being Glenn, and the blue being the other seven numbered Holo Casters.
I wonder who they are, Glenn thought quietly to himself.
His Pokedex began to beep, and buzzed lightly four times. He checked it and found that it had updated itself for the four pokemon he had in his party, as he turned his attention to Diantha again.
"....In addition, the pokedex keeps track of your current party. If all of your pokemon are defeated it battle, it's lights out, and you are eliminated from the tournament."
At that, Steven stepped up to the podium alongside her, while in the background Cynthia had returned her Garchomp to its pokeball and had released her Milotic into the water nearby, and began climbing onto it.
Steven picked out a small pebble-like object to the amazement of some in the crowd, and to the puzzlement of others.
"In addition to the prize money, Devon Corporation will generously donate one of these to the winner of the tournament. It will be the Champion's choice." He then placed the stone back into his pocket, and exchanged his Metagross for his Skarmory.

Lisia then stood alongside them. "The winner will be either the first trainer to defeat one of our Champions-- ORRRR be the last trainer standing!" She exclaimed, tapping one of the pokedexes. "If all of your pokemon faint, the 'Dex will know, and will shut down, signalling to us the result. In five minutes, when you look someone in the eye, if even one of you wants to battle, you must battle."

And with that, Lisia made a giddy noise, as Steven hitched onto the back of his Skarmory. "If anyone wants to challenge me, I will be in Rustboro City" he said, his Skarmory flying off.
"Lilycove City!" Cynthia proclaimed loudly from the back of her Milotic, as the two of them blasted away from the port.
Diantha stepped from the podium, her Gardevoir closely following. "I will be on the beach in five minutes, should anyone want to face me." She said, smiling.

It was at that the crowd dispersed shortly, while those that remained quickly eyed one another, demanding battles.

Glenn looked down at Goomy "We are not going out in the first 10 minutes of this." He explained, while his little dragon bubbled as a response.
Lisia gleefully narrated a few fights in the background while Glenn stared at the cobblestone ground, shuffling vaguely in the direction north towards Route 110.
I don't even have a bicycle.. He thought cynically.

The two of them -Jonah and Rich- listened to the rest of the speech. Before Jonah had the chance to tell the Gallade that they were leaving, they were elsewhere... more specifically, teleported in front of a lot of people. Some protested, though the person handing out the items simply shrugged, and gave him the items, before ushering him away to allow someone else to get their items.

"I hope we weren't being too rude," Jonah muttered. Richard did the Gallade equivalent of shrugging, he was clearly eager for Jonah to turn on the newly acquired items. Jonah looked at the pokedex and the Holo Caster he had been handed. The Holo Caster had a number, 3, and it showed off several other numbers.

"Right, our rivals..." he muttered. Gallade looked content, and, while he had gotten into a situation he really didn't like, he couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. He wanted out, but he hadn't seen Rich this happy in a long while. Then he remembered what what Steven had said, and smiled a bit. "Or allies."

I wonder if I should give him what he wants, for once. He's... my best friend. I want to see him happy.

"Let's give it a shot, okay?" he muttered, and looked at the numbers again. "Should we look one of the dots then? We might be able to fight... or, you know, perhaps we can at least talk to them and see what to do next. I mean, they might want to team up! It wouldn't be fun if we had to fight too many people.Let's heal up before we start, and we might want to buy some stuff." Richard nodded, then teleported them away from the crowd, till the Pokemon centre, where they healed up, before making their way over to the market and buying some potions and such.

"I wonder what Apollo and Arthur will think, right, Rich?" Rich made an agreeing cry, and the two other pokemon was let out of their pokeballs. Apollo jumped into Jonah's arms, greeting him by rubbing the slightly sticky fur against his hand, while Arthur stretched.

"So," he started, as he followed the position of the blue dot that seemed to be the furthest away from anyone else. "We've joined a competition--- a fighting competition. Ehm... if you don't want to, I understand it, I'm sure they'll understand it if I say that only Rich wants to fight." Apollo protested, jumping eagerly in his arms, showing that he was ready for anything to come. Arthur, however, sounded worried, its cry hesitant.

"Yes, I know, it's scary. It's really scary. But Rich is---" another noise from the Swirlix. "Rich and Apollo are strong, I'm sure it'll be fine. Besides, we might be able to team up with someone!"

I hope so.

Jonah didn't want to imagine any of his pokemon fainting or even getting hurt.

I'll allow it because they seem to really want to.

"Anyways, I think we might be getting close to this guy," he said, looking at the Holo Caster, feeling some hope that the other would be willing to work together. "Or... if he takes a pause, perhaps."

Cyrus eagerly fetched his Pokedex and Holo Caster. He found that the former had updated with his Pokemon's data, while the latter bore the number 10 and displayed seven blue dots. He then noticed that the Holo Caster also bore seven different numbers. "Why's it showing only seven when there's at least forty competitors? Is there something special about these trainers?" he wondered.

"....In addition, the pokedex keeps track of your current party. If all of your pokemon are defeated it battle, it's lights out, and you are eliminated from the tournament."

"That means I'll have to moderate myself when it comes to battle. No going all-out unless I'm basically guaranteed to beat them and no picking fights with everyone." Cyrus though. If he wanted to win, he would have to pick his battles wisely. "Though...they didn't mention anything about using healing items or Pokecenters. I suppose then it wouldn't be against the rules to heal any of my Pokemon who get knocked out, so long as I still have one remaining."

"In addition to the prize money, Devon Corporation will generously donate one of these to the winner of the tournament. It will be the Champion's choice."

Cyrus grinned. He had a good idea of what the stone was. Although he wasn't sure if it would work with any of his Pokemon, it gave him even further motivation to win this tournament.

As the champions dispersed, Cyrus was tempted to follow. He'd always wanted to fight a Champion and now was his opportunity...but no, he needed to be smart about this. He would just get knocked right out of the tournament if he fought someone like Diantha now. Staying in the tournament of course ran the risk of Cyrus not even getting the chance to challenge a champion, but it also offered the opportunity to train his team and potentially give him a better chance at beating a champion.

"Reza, come. It's time to give ourselves a warm-up." Cyrus said. The Persian yawned, uncurled himself and rose to his feet. Reza walked at Cyrus' side as his master looked at the dots on the Holo Caster. "Might as well go after one of these trainers." he said, following the radar as he approached one of the blue dots.

Soon a tall, tanned girl with red hair was before Cyrus. He smiled as he noticed the Pokemon at her side, recognizing as a near-pseudolegendary Metang. Cyrus had been a fan of Metang and its evolutionary line after seeing a televised battle of Steven's mighty Metagross in action.

He walked over to her. "Hello there. You're one of my rivals, then?" Cyrus said. He turned his #10 Holo Caster around to show the girl that she was one of the dots on his radar. "Cyrus Amethystein." he announced. Reza leaned forward to sniff at the Metang.

Tasha grinned. She didn't know what the prize Steven had offered was, but if a Champion was offering something, it had to be good. As she got her Pokedex and Holo-Caster she toyed with how she was gonna win this tournament. A pure battle of attrition would take forever, but taking on a champion with her team would be suicide. She had a solid team, but no where near enough to beat a Champ. Oh well. She thought after picking up the devices. I did want to explore Hoenn , this'll be a better reason than 'just because'.

She looked at her Holo-Caster, it read 4 at the top and showed a red blip on screen, as well as several blue dots milling about the crowd. Must be the the other's I'm supposed to face. One of them was getting closer.

"Hello there. You're one of my rivals, then? Cyrus Amethystein." Tasha turned a noticed a shorter boy approach with a Persian at his side. Tasha smiled. "Tasha Holloway. And it would appear that I am." She said offering a hand. Knight turned in the air and eyes the Persian. It floated down till it was eye level with the cat. It raised one claw and poked the jewel in it's forehead.

"Now that introductions are out of the way how 'bout we get this thing started right? One-on-one, my strongest against yours?" She said gesturing to Knight.

Cyrus shook her hand and smirked at her response. "I like the way you think, Tasha." he said. "Although you're about to regret asking to fight my strongest." He gestured to the Safari Ball on his belt with his free hand. Metang was a powerful Pokemon to be sure, but Cyrus was certain that his Dragonair could best it.

Reza recoiled in surprise as the Metang tapped him on the jewel. The Persian barred his fangs and hissed at the Steel-type. Cyrus drew a Luxury Ball and held it out. "Reza, return." he ordered. Though eager to fight the Metang himself, Reza obeyed and was zapped back into the pokeball.

Cyrus walked away from Tasha to get some distance. He drew his Safari Ball and turned back to her with a grin. "Iliya, go!" he shouted and threw the Safari Ball into the air. It spun several times before reaching its peak and opening. A Dragonair appeared the air, letting out a fearsome roar that rang through the plaza as she slowly descended to the ground.

"A Dragonair huh? Not bad. But you should know Knight ain't a push over. Ready buddy?" She asked crossing her arms. Knight floated forward, it's claws clashing together menacingly. "Knight! Bullet Punch!" She called. Knight's right arm glowed white as he shot forward at Cyrus's Dragonair, almost faster than the eye could follow. The opposing pokemon certainly couldn't it's body twisted as the fist connected. "What would you care to put on the line of this battle? Money, A Potion maybe? What would you care to offer?" Tasha asked, a smirk on her face.

Iliya had barely any time to react as Knight came barrelling at her. For a metal warrior, it was shockingly fast. Powerful too for one so small. The blow struck Iliya and sent her reeling, sliding against the ground but managing to upright herself as quickly as she had been punched. The dragon huffed loudly, glaring at the Metang who had dared to attack her.

"Let's see, being a Steel-type means that Metang is resistant to Steel and Dragon-type moves." Cyrus muttered to himself. "Which means...Iliya, use-" Before Cyrus could issue his command, the dragon had already begun her attack. She rose into the air again and let out a roar, the orbs on her neck and tail glowing a bright yellow. Electricity crackled through Iliya's horn and she fired a Thunderbolt at Knight.

"Thunderbolt. Exactly that. Uh...good initiative Iliya!" Cyrus said, though he was upset the Pokemon acted without heeding his command. Again. As Tasha spoke, Cyrus turned and met her smirk with one of his own. "If by some blind luck your knight slays my dragon? I'll gift you one of the custom apricorn pokeballs I've crafted. Of your choosing." Cyrus reached for the Pokegear on his belt, flipping it open and tuning it to a radio station, so he could get some background music [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXedWYVsIfM] for their battle. "And what would you reward me with, should my dragon roast your knight?"

Tasha laughed. "I didn't think I'd see any of those outside of Jhoto! If you win..." She thought a moment. Knight didn't move as the Thunderbolt struck. When the thunder dissipated, Knight was left slightly smoking but still up. "Knight Bullet Punch once more! Tasha called. Again Knight moved too fast to see as his arm began to glow. The Dragonair couldn't follow Knight, and cried out in anger as it's arm connected with the dragons back. Tasha shrugged with a smile. "I don't have anything that can beat custom pokeballs, so we'll say 500 bucks. Hows that sound?"

Cyrus scoffed at the offer. "I've got all the money I need back home. You'll have to come up with a better reward for me than that!" he said, smirking still.

Meanwhile Iliya was having trouble keeping up with Knight. The dragon was enraged that such a puny creature was besting her in terms of speed. She began twisting through the air, circling around the Metang with swift and dazzling grace. Cyrus grinned as he realized what Iliya was doing "Yes, Agility! Give yourself a speed advantage and then strike with another Thunderbo-"

Iliya instead began spinning at an intensified rate, encircling Knight like a cyclone. Soon an actual cyclone began to form, the dragon roaring as her orbs glowed a rainbow of colours and violent wind began battering Knight. "What? No! Don't use Twister, damn it! That'll barely do any damage!" Cyrus shouted, rubbing his palm against his forehead.

Tasha shrugged. "Then I'm out of ideas. Name something, If I have it or can get it, it's yours......if I lose." She smiled. "Knight Metal Claw!" Knight stopped spinning slowly in the dragons twister. It's claws glowed white and charged at the dragon, but it's boosted agility worked against Knight and easily dodged the attack. Tasha slapped her palm against her forehead. "Damn Agility." She mumbled.

Cyrus grinned at Tasha as Knight's attack missed. "Looks like you're in checkmate, dear." he said. Though really he'd only win if Iliya decided not to mess up. To his relief, the dragon's orbs began glowing yellow again and she shot out another Thunderbolt from her horn. It was enough to finish off Knight this time, the cumulative damage from Iliya's attacks being too much for him to handle.

"Seems like I won." Cyrus said, smiling as smug as one could. "Good job, Iliya. Now return to-" Just as he had begun, Iliya was already wandering off from the battlezone. She began slithering through the plaza, eyeing other trainers and Pokemon alike. Cyrus scowled and chased after her. "Hey! I said RETURN, Iliya!" he shouted. Cyrus lifted his Safarai Ball just as Iliya turned to glare, activating it and causing the dragon to return to her container.

He sighed and walked back to Tasha, smiling once again. "So about that reward...I've got an idea. How about you serve as my retainer for the duration of the tournament? Having an ally in this tournament would be useful, and perhaps you could learn a thing or two about Pokemon training from being in my presence."

Glenn was sitting down by the pathway with his back slouched against one of the walls of the Bicycle Path entrance.
His Goomy was nibbling on bits of grass, and leaving a trail behind him that gave the dirt a wet shine. I'll need to nickname him eventually.

In the distance he could hear the battles going on in Slateport. Occasionally a flash of fire or a jet of water would spring up into the sky, or a Pelipper would aimlessly dodge incoming projectiles. Regardless, he was glad he wasn't currently embroilled in the conflict, but at the same time wondered if he had left the city a bit too early.

That worry soon subsided, as his Holo Caster revealed another of his forced acquaintances to be coming his way.
Hopefully he has some sense he thought optimistically.

As the trainer got closer, Glenn half walked, half sprang into him, Holo Caster in hand, and Goomy trailing towards his shoe.
"Oh, hi-Uh. Sorry, you must be #3, correct?" He said casually. He noticed the other trainer had his pokemon surrounding him as he walked. They included a pink....thing, another pink thing, but bigger (probably an Espeon, Glenn had never seen one before), and a Gallade, which actually appeared quite formidable.
Psychic would destroy my Bulbasaur, the Fighting type would also doom Brannigan and Eve. No way am I fighting that just yet....
Glenn thought, now glad only his Goomy was out and about.

"Sorry, my name is Glenn. And I'd rather not battle just yet. It's just I'd rather not be eliminated just as the tournament begins...."
